Cincinnati Bengals vs Washington Football Team

It’s a Friday night preseason battle that will see the Bengals face off against the Washington Football Team. Each of these teams has already played their first preseason game which means we could see a longer look at the starters. The Bengals won their first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19-14. We’ll have to keep in mind that we saw nothing from QB Joe Burrow in that game and could likely not play on Friday,

The Washington Football Team lost their first preseason game to the New England Patriots 22-13. However, Washington showed promise in that game, just not on the offensive side of the ball. Their defense looked pretty good though aside from the rushing yards allowed but will likely rely heavily on them against the Bengals. We’re always looking to get you the best picks so let’s take a look at each team and come back with our Washington Football Team vs Cincinnati Bengals NFL Picks.

Bengals Come In As Surprising Underdogs

The Cincinnati Bengals, although they won their first preseason game, come in as +4.5 underdogs per BetOnline. We find this a little strange as Cincinnati was much better on offense in their preseason debut. Kyle Shurmur, who will likely be on the field most of the game on Friday, threw for 108 yards. He was also helped out by RB Jacques Patrick who rushed for 71 yards on 15 attempts.

Apparently, their performance against the Buccaneers wasn’t enough to sway oddsmakers. The Bengals only have one player listed as questionable, so it isn’t an injury concern. Whatever it may be, the Bengals are getting nearly five points on Friday. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing though, as it gives us a larger margin for error.

Washington, Looking For A Win On Friday

Although they come in as a favorite on Friday, we imagine Washington doesn’t consider themselves one. They were beaten by a Patriots team with a rookie quarterback and surrendered 179 yards rushing. To us, it’s strange that Washington is a 4.5-point favorite per BetOnline. How could a team with so many holes on both sides of the ball, be the favorite? We think it could be that the Washington Football Team beat the New England Patriots in nearly every category, aside from the score. They had more total yards, more first downs, and nearly ten minutes longer time of possession. We’re definitely intrigued to see how they perform against the Bengals on Friday.

Our Bengals Vs Washington Predictions

The spread of this game is quite attractive when planning to take the underdog. The 4.5 points given could really help the Bengals here. Taking into consideration that the Washington Football Team nearly surrendered 200 yards rushing, we’ve got to go with the Bengals. The Bengals are a good running football team that can take this opportunity to go 2-0 in the preseason. The good news is that even if the Bengals lose by a field goal, they’ll still cover the spread. This makes it even more of an attractive bet. We’ll have just a slight bit of extra coverage in the event the game doesn’t go in the Bengals favor.
