Notable Free Agent Deals
At the start of free agency there were many top-tier players looking for new deals. Many have been re-signed, but several notable names have made headlines by agreeing to deals with new teams. Some players have earned a Franchise Tag, which means a team retains a player at the end of his contract for an additional year at a preset price. It’s a fine accomplishment for any player, and is seen as a testament to the value they add to their respective franchise. Below we’ve highlighted the top-players of the NFL’s 2024 free agency, and provided updates on where they’ve agreed to sign.

Biggest Free Agency Moves
- Kirk Cousins (QB); signs deal with Atlanta Falcons (4 years, $180 million)
35-year old veteran QB Kirk Cousins has agreed to a deal with the Atlanta Falcons and is now the new face of the franchise. Atlanta is the 3rd team Cousins has been on since being drafted in 2012 and he could be the missing piece the Falcons needed.
- Saquon Barkley (RB); signs deal with Philadelphia Eagles (3 years, $37.75 million)
Long time New York Giant Saquon Barkley has decided to cut ties with his former team after 6 years. He is signing a new deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. The 27-year old running back replaces De’Andre Swift as the Eagles leading rusher. The Eagles had one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL last season, and have bolstered an already impressive run game by adding Barkley.
- Derrick Henry (RB); signs deal with Baltimore Ravens (2 years; $16 million)
30-year old running back Derrick “King” Henry has left the Tennessee Titans after 8 tremendous seasons. Henry will be sorely missed in Tennessee, but at the ripe age of 30 it was time to move on. King Henry now joins the top rushing team in the NFL, and I can’t wait to see what the 6’ 3”, 247 lbs running back can achieve with MVP Lamar Jackson.
- Chris Jones (DL); re-signs with Kansas City Chiefs (5 years, $160 million)
The rich get richer. Reigning 2x Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, re-signed All-Pro DL Chris Jones, retaining their best defensive player for another 5 years. Jones is now one of the highest paid defensive players in the NFL, and with his re-signing, the Chiefs are on their way to a three-peat.
