Week 6 of the NFL regular season will kickoff on Thursday night with a divisional matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos are last in the AFC West with a 1-4 record. Conversely, the Chiefs are leading the AFC West and are 4-1 on the season. According to the sportsbooks, Kansas City is a heavy favorite to win. In fact, the Chiefs have won 15-straight against Denver, and the Broncos haven’t beaten the Chiefs since 2015 when Peyton Manning was their quarterback.

Broncos vs. Chiefs: Player Props
Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs QB, Over 265.5 Passing Yards (-110)
Reigning MVP of both the regular season and the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes is leading the Chiefs to a successful season once again. The 28-year old QB is averaging 257.4 passing yards, 30.8 rushing yards, 2.0 touchdowns, and a 96.0 passer rating. Against a porous Denver defense, who’s allowed the most total yards (2,253) this season, Mahomes will thrive. The Broncos give up 263.0 passing yards per game and they’ll struggle against KC’s pass heavy approach. Mahomes has gone over 265.5 passing yards in 3 of the Chiefs 5 games this season, and he averages 269.0 passing yards per game against the Broncos in his career, so hit the over on Mahomes’ 265.5 passing yards prop.
Russell Wilson, Broncos QB, Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+140)
Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos have struggled to win games, but it’s because of their defense. Denver’s offense is humming along nicely, averaging 24.2 points per game, but their defense is one of the worst in the NFL, allowing 36.2 points per game. Russell Wilson is having a much better season than he did last year, averaging 242.0 passing yards, 23.8 rushing yards, 2.2 passing touchdowns, and a 106.1 passer rating. Wilson has thrown touchdowns to 6 different receivers, has only 2 interceptions, and is completing 66.9% of his passes. Against a Chiefs defense whose strength lies in their run stopping, the Broncos will move the ball through the air, and Russell Wilson will go over his 1.5 passing touchdowns prop.
Broncos vs. Chiefs Game Predictions
Take the Kansas City Chiefs to cover the point spread (-10.5). Denver’s defense has no hope to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and the KC offense. The Chiefs will score early and often, and while Russell Wilson and the Broncos offense will hit their average point total, KC will pour it on against Denver’s swiss cheese defense. The Chiefs are 3-2 against the spread this season, and historically, Kansas City has dominated the Denver Broncos. I don’t expect Thursday night’s matchup to be any different.
Pick ATS: Kansas City Chiefs Cover (-10.5)
Pick O/U: Over (48)
Prediction: Broncos 20; Chiefs 37
