Ohio State Odds to win Championship Prediction

The Ohio State Buckeyes, unfortunately, had their 2020 season cut short due to guidelines in the Big 10. That limited season resulted in us only seeing Ohio State in a small capacity. Still, though, they were able to close the season with a 7-1 record. They went 6-0 in the Big 10 which all led to them facing Northwestern in the Big 10 Championship. They went on to win the said championship and prepared to face Clemson in the College Football Playoffs.

Odds were split on who would win the game between Ohio State and Clemson. Both teams were led by superstar quarterbacks and coaches. In the end, it was Ohio State who emerged victoriously and went onto the biggest game in College Football, the National Championship. This is where the hopes and dreams of Ohio State players and fans were crushed. The Alabama Rolling Tide rolled right over the Buckeyes in great fashion with a 52-24 victory. Now, back to the drawing board, can Ohio State take the National Championship this year? The better question is, are they worth you betting on?

What Does The Sportsbook Say?

As it stands, per BetOnline, the Ohio State Buckeyes are +500 to win the National Championship. They’re the third most likely team to win, just behind Alabama and Clemson. You would think, with the players Ohio State has lost, their odds wouldn’t be so great. However, you have to remember that this is a team whose head coach is 23-2. When you have that great of coaching, the players lost are an afterthought.

This is only Head Coach Ryan Day’s third year with the team and they already look like National Champions. As more reviews come in it shows that most analysts believe that Ohio State has the best chance to win the 2021 National Championship. This means taking them over teams like Georgia, Clemson, and Alabama. The truth is, Ohio State has great odds to win the 2021 National Championship, which makes them a good bet.

What About The Players Lost?

Losing quarterback Justin Fields is a huge hit to the team to be sure. However, they still have an amazing receiving corps. The receiving group will be able to help out regardless of who gets the start at quarterback. It looks as if CJ Stroud will be the starting quarterback when the season starts and he was a star recruit only years ago. You have to remember though, Stroud hasn’t thrown a pass in a college football game yet.

The great news is they’ll be keeping superstar wide receiver Chris Olave, who is returning for his senior year. This brings back Ohio State’s deep threat and an experienced presence to the locker room. Plus, with Ryan Day at the head coaching position, there’s no reason not to trust this offense in 2021.

Our Take On Ohio State As National Champions

The Ohio State Buckeyes are a great pick to win the National Championship. Per BetOnline, they’re getting great odds at +500, and got all the way to the National Championship last year. Ryan Day, the head coach, can smell a title and they’ll pursue it vehemently in 2021. Out of the top three teams to take, we’d say Ohio State is the best option behind Alabama.
