Matchup: Los Angeles Clippers vs. Sacramento Kings

The NBA regular season is nearing the endpoint, but before the standings are locked-in for the postseason, we have a matchup between the LA Clippers and Sacramento Kings slated for Tuesday. The Clippers are 4th in the West, 5 games back from 1st place, while the Kings are 7th in the West, 2 games back from an automatic playoff berth. The Clippers are 2-1 against the Kings this season, but will enter Tuesday night’s game favored by just 2-points. The Kings are .500 as home underdogs (2-2), but host an LA side that travels well, posting a 25-14 road record (64.1%) and winning over 80% of their games as road favorites. The Clippers are looking to secure their spot in the top-6, while the Kings will be going through the play-in if Sacraento can’t string together wins in the waning moments of the regular season.

Below you’ll find all of our picks for the Clippers vs. Kings game, including stats, scores, and advice. We’ll help you navigate the odds and provide helpful betting tips for Tuesday’s matchup between the Clippers and Kings.

Clippers vs. Kings History

The Clippers and Kings series began in 1971. Back then the Clippers were known as the Buffalo Braves, while the Kings were known as the Cincinnati Royals. By 1978 both franchises had adopted the name we know today but still remained outside their current city. It wasn’t until 1985 that the Los Angeles Clippers and the Sacramento Kings came to be, and this Tuesday they will play their 229th all-time matchup. The Kings lead the series 123-105 over the Clippers, but the Clippers lead the season series 2-1 over the Kings. Sacramento gets home court advantage on Tuesday, but in the Clippers last 10 visits to Sacramento they went 8-2, beating the Kings 131-117 the last time they rolled into town.

Clippers vs. Kings Game Predictions

I’m going with the LA Clippers over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. The Clippers travel well, posting an 8-2 record in their last 10 road games, shooting 50.2% from the field, and 48.2% from the arc. The Kings went 6-4 in their last 10, shooting 45.1% from the field, and 36.0% from the arc. Oddsmakers have the spread at just 2-points, and I agree it’ll be a close game, but the Clippers are playing well, posting 3-straight wins, while the Kings will have the pressure of the postseason weighing them down.

The Clippers top-three scorers: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden, are combining for 63.1 points per game, while the Kings top-three scorers: De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and Malik Monk, are combining for 61.4 points per game. However Sacramneto’s Malik Monk, their most important player off the bench, has been ruled out of Tuesday’s game because of a knee injury. The Kings starters will keep the game close, but once they come out the Clippers will take over. LA’s second unit, headed by former MVP Russell Westbrook, will take advantage of Sacramento’s middling defense, and secure the win for the Clippers.

In summary, here are my picks for the Clippers vs. Kings Tuesday night matchup:

  • Moneyline Pick: LA Clippers (-130)

If you take the Clippers Moneyline (-130): You risk $130 to win $100, for a total payout of $230, if the Clippers win straight up.

  • ATS Pick: LA Clippers (-2.0)

If you take the Clippers to Cover the -2.0 Spread (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Clippers win the game by at least 2 points.

  • O/U Pick: Over (223)

If you take the over on 223 total points (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Clippers and Kings combine for more than 223 points.
