Tough Matchup For Series Control
Game three was a poor showing for the Hurricanes, as they did nothing to help their goalies continued stellar play. Raanta stopped 30 of 32 shots in Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the Rangers. Each game has been a low scoring affair in this series, and this time it was the Hurricanes turn to be held to just 1 goal. Raanta has still been spectacular, allowing just three goals on 81 shots across the first three contests.
Opposite him, Igor Shesterkin had an amazing game 3, and the Ranger’s helped him offensively, scoring three goals in the winning effort. Igor blocked 43 of 44 shots in game 3, and was able to improve his playoff record to 5-4-0. Game four will boil down to once again which team will give their stellar goalie more help. The Rangers have a 4-1 record in the playoffs when they have home ice in Madison Square Garden, and will look to make it 5-1. Expect both teams to come out shooting.
