The Real Game 1
Game one was not the game one we were promised, and unless you are New York Rangers fans, you were OK with that result. It almost looked wrong seeing the two time defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning being blown out. Game two will be a different story. It is understandable that the Lightning looked a little sluggish in game one as it has been a complete nine days since they last played playoff hockey, and it has been an even longer 23 days since the Lightning have had a loss in these playoffs. You have to go all the way back to game five against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the opening round of the playoffs on May 10th.
Lightning goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevsky had his worst game of the entire playoffs to this point as he posted his worst save percentage at only .824, and by allowing 6 goals, allowed the same amount he had allowed in the Lightning’s previous five and a half games COMBINED. Expect a much better performance from a player of his caliber.
