The Devils End Road Trip in Colorado

The New Jersey Devils are ending a 4-game road trip on Tuesday with a matchup against the Colorado Avalanche in Denver. The Devils are 7-3-1 (15 pts) overall, and are looking to finish the road trip strong with 3 wins in 4 games. The Colorado Avalanche stand in their way however, and at 7-3-0 (14 pts), the Avalanche are no pushovers.

There’s very little to separate the two sides, but I’m going with the Avalanche in this one. Colorado is 3-0-0 at home, and the Avalanche will be nice and rested after a two-day break. The Devils are 4-1-0 on the road, but they’ll be exhausted after all the traveling they’ve had to do. Colorado failed to beat the Devils last season, going 0-2-0 against New Jersey in 2022, giving the Avalanche added motivation to beat the Devils and protect their home arena.

The Devils have a solid attack, averaging 3.91 goals per game, but the Avalanche defense has been difficult to overcome. Colorado is allowing just 2.8 goals and fewer than 30 shots against per game. New Jersey is great on the Power Play, but Colorado is a disciplined team, and the Avalanche will remain unbeaten at home.

So for our Devils vs. Avalanche expert pick, take the Colorado Avalanche Moneyline (-166) on Tuesday.
