Hurricanes Struggle to Find Their Form

The Carolina Hurricanes entered the season as Cup favorites, but their inconsistent form has left fans scratching their heads. Carolina is 7-5-0 (14 pts), putting them in the Metro, a division they were expected to dominate. The Hurricanes have been scattered defensively, giving up 6+ goals in 3 of their first 6 games, while on offense they averaged just 2.3 goals in their last 6 games. Despite the mistepps, the Hurricanes remain a postseason favorite, they just need to find their groove. 

I’m going with the Hurricanes in this one. Carolina has an excellent opportunity to build some momentum against the equally inconsistent Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres are 6-6-0 (12 pts), and while they’ve had big wins, they’ve also suffered tough losses. Buffalo has undeniable potential, but as one of the youngest teams in the NHL, they still have a lot to learn. The Hurricanes are a playoff ready team, while the Sabres are still developing.
