Matchup: Detroit Lions vs. San Francisco 49ers

The NFL Playoffs continues this Sunday with a thrilling matchup between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers. The Lions are playing their first road game of the postseason, and won’t have their devoted fans chanting their name, but Detoit is hopeful they can reach the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history. The 49ers have a lot of talent, and if they win it’ll be San Francisco’s 2nd Super Bowl appearance in 5 years, but they’ll have to fight off the Lions in order to get there. San Francisco remains the favorite, and for a detailed analysis of the game, click here. In this article we’ll be discussing the best player props for the 2024 NFC Championship game.

Player props are simple; they are bets focused on player performance, such as: touchdowns, yards, attempts, and much more. Below you’ll find our Lions vs. 49ers player prop predictions. Lions vs. 49ers: Best Player Props

Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers WR; Prop Bet: O/U 80.5 receiving yards

Prediction: Over (-127)

Brandon Aiyuk has gotten better every season of his 4-year career. This season, he recorded a career high 1,342 yards, his 2nd consecutive 1,000+ yard season. He led the Niners in targets (105), receptions (75), and yards per game (83.9), and I expect him to have a big game against a Lions secondary that’s allowed 338.0 passing yards per game in the playoffs. Keep in mind, Aiyuk’s player prop is solid, but only if his teammate and fellow wide receiver Deebo Samuel misses the game. Samuel is dealing with a shoulder injury which may keep him sidelined, so Monitor Samuel’s status, and if he can’t go, definitely take the over on Brandon Aiyuk’s receiving yards prop.

Christian McCaffrey, 49ers RB; Prop Bet: O/U 87.5 rushing yards

Prediction: Under (-127)

Leading the NFL with 1,459 rushing yards, Christian McCaffrey is a force to be reckoned with. Last week, McCaffrey nearly eclipsed 100 yards on the ground, recording 98 yards on 17 carries (5.8 YPC) for 2 scores against Green Bay. It was a choice matchup for CMC, but this week he faces a much tougher obstacle. The Detroit Lions have given up a lot of yards, but not on the ground, holding opponents to just 78.5 rushing yards per game in the playoffs. CMC has his work cut out for him in this one, and while he’ll remain a focal point of the Niners offense, McCaffrey will do most of his damage as a receiver out of the backfield.

Jared Goff, Lions QB; Prop Bet: O/U 35.5 passing attempts

Prediction: Over (-129)

Lions quarterback Jared Goff is going to be a busy man on Sunday. Over the course of the playoffs, Goff has averaged 35.0 passing attempts per game, eclipsing 40 against the Buccaneers last week. The Bucs don’t have a great secondary, and Dan Campbell took advantage by letting his 8th-year quarterback loose. Well, the Niner’s don’t have a stellar secondary either, and I’m expecting Detroit to deploy a similar tactic this Sunday. Moreover, the Lions will likely be chasing the game, meaning they’ll be playing from behind, so Detroit will be forced to lean on their passing game, and Goff will see his fair share of attempts.
