Jones was drafted by the New England Patriots and should make his debut on Thursday.

When you think about the Washington Football Team finishing with a 7-9 record, playoffs probably don’t come to mind. However, between these two teams, Washington was the team that made the playoffs. This season they’re hopeful for an at least .500 season, perhaps even winning the NFC East again. Thursday, we’ll be able to see what the future of the team could potentially look like.

For starters, we’ll get to see their recent addition to the quarterback position, Ryan Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick has made his bones as a journeyman around the league and has now landed in Washington. Another player everyone in Washington is excited to see again is DE Chase Young. Young is an emerging superstar that will give opposing quarterbacks nightmares in 2021. Washington has a strong defense, but how will they match against the Patriots?

New England Patriots Overview:

The Patriots ended their 2020 outing with a 7-9 record. There wasn’t much stability at the quarterback position so the Patriots set out to fix that in the NFL Draft. They landed on Mac Jones, the talented young quarterback from Alabama. To think Cam Newton will be the definite starter when the season starts is foolish.

We’ll get a great look at Jones here, along with some additional talent brought in during the offseason. We’ll get to see Jonnu Smith and Trent Brown on the offensive side of the ball. These are great additions for a team that struggled in 2020 to move the ball. Considering they’re facing Washington, this should be a good test for them.
