NFL Conference Playoffs Review 

 

we’re back here. This is Tommy D, with another big podcast have bet the edge. It’s Friday, January 29. And we’re going to be talking about the two games this Sunday. Two of these teams are heading to the Super Bowl to go into the golf courses. So we got a lot to talk about here. We want to get right into this show. We got a full house here today. I’m going to start from top to bottom. Not in any particular order. We got Mr. Kenny Edwards right from Sin City, Las Vegas, Kenny. What’s going on out there?

 

Are these good? What is beautiful? We haven’t seen a cloud in the sky now in the last six days tomorrow the under and over and clouds minus a half minus saw like 150 There are no clouds here, baby. It’s clear. I when I see clear, I see clarity. I see things. I see the game. We have lots today. I never give locks today. Again.

Who wants to start off with this one. I mean, before I came on 59% of the money right now I assume it’s public money is on the bangles. 41% is on the chiefs. Bengals are seven and two on the road this year ATS so let’s start with the man in Vegas. Kenny. What’s your take on this one?

 

Well, the way I’m looking at it is after the week last week with Kansas City how they came back against buffalo. Cincinnati playing great football Kansas City playing I don’t know. I mean way, way over their head, I think you know, I’m still not a believer. I mean, they should never even be in this position this week. Buffalo was supposed to beat him. They didn’t. This guy Burroughs was the real faffing sits out he has a great defense. I do not believe that. Kansas City has a good defense. And I don’t know I think it’s I can come in. I think the first quarter they just have to keep their composure, but I think they’re gonna give him a good game. I definitely would definitely think to point your value here. I wouldn’t take them on the money line to win the game outright. But I think they’re gonna battle and pretty tough. I think they’re gonna surprise a lot of people.

 

What about the total Kenny? Give us your selection on the total? It’s 54 and a half. I mean, that’s a pretty high total. What would you go over?

 

As long as the weather is not going to be like an ice storm? Um, I think there’s gonna be a lot of passing. And I think I would take the game over the total. It’s a high total a lot of these playoff games have been going under this year. I only think that maybe been about three games out of a mall that have you know, gotten over the total. I like to total over. I think that you know, between both teams, this should be probably about eight or 900 yards of offense, and that should produce a lot of points.

 

Well, so we got some props here that we’re going to talk about passing yards for Joe burrow and Patrick Mahomes. So you like the over on that one? Let’s go to Scott Scott, let’s talk the total. And let me just back up if you want Kenny’s premium plays for the weekend, visit his website winners only lv.com. Let’s put out a total you want or something else a teaser? Maybe what do you think?

 

What a great game. What a great game. You got two explosive offenses going at each other. You know, Joe burrow. He’s going for it. He’s already said, we’re here to make noise. So he’s making noise. He’s got to the championship game. Last year in his first year he got injured this year. He’s playing phenomenally. They find ways to win. Think about a team that got sacked nine times in Tennessee, and finds the way to win the game. 

I know Ryan Tannehill at a terrible game and all but still, nine sacks and you get the job done to advance to the championship. That game last week is still to eat me between Kansas City and buffalo. Because let’s face it, it should have been all about buffalo playing against Cincinnati in this one today. But Mahomes found a way to do what he does best. This is like Cinderella against Godzilla on paper. 

Based on what everyone thought no one thought Cincinnati would be here. It’s like a Cinderella story versus Godzilla. Everyone expected Kansas City somehow some way to be in this spot. I really liked this game. I think that this game has potential for the dog. Cincinnati is playing really well. The numbers are tremendous. There are six and only the last six against the spread. I think Kansas City got lucky to get to this point. Like Ken mentioned. I think Cincinnati is not getting lucky. I just think they’re playing all-around really good football. They’re rallying on both sides of the ball. Whatever it’s taking them to do. They’re doing it and they’re moving on. I like the dog in this game. I would get this number up above eight, maybe even eight and a half. And jump on the dog in this game. Right now. It’s seven and a half. I was at least eight or eight and a half on the number in this game. I would take Cincinnati I think they have a shot to keep the close. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Baro pulls off a major upset here. But I think the game is going to be somewhere in the range of three to four points. Either way, the dog is alive guys.

 

So maybe a backdoor covers something like that. It sounds like

 

even a backdoor cover. I think the game is going to be a close game. I think these teams are going to like Kenny said it could be a 567 800 yards attack here on but you know, between both teams here, the key is the weather. But I’m looking at the weather conditions I’m seeing about a high of 48 Probably by the time this game goes, it’ll be somewhere in the mid or upper 30s. So I don’t think that’s going to really affect it. I don’t see anything about snow. So I think it’s gonna be just a great night to play football in a perfect environment.

 And I think both these teams know what they got to do. It’s not they know they played each other already. The thing was 34 to 31 If I’m not mistaken on the last time they played each other. It was a high-scoring game. I just think the same model is going to happen in this one. They know what they got to do both teams and if they execute they’re going to do it and it’s going to be a close game.

 

Dry What’s your take on this one? Give us your I know you like props give us a total prediction. Casey bangles 54 and a half or a teaser? Possibly what Who do you like?

 

Yeah, so I also would lean towards the bangles plus seven here but also like I like to over better in this game that you’ve just put up 42 points against what was the league’s best defense. They’re averaging 37.2 points over the last seven weeks Mahomes is just unstoppable right now. It doesn’t seem that anyone can figure him out and the Bengals just put up 34 points against Steve’s defense four weeks ago. 

So the Chiefs Stephens gonna have to he’s gonna have their hands full with Higgins Chase, Mixon, and the Seminole opposite side with Kelsey and Tyree kill. They just gave up four touchdowns together with Davis, the chiefs the events, so it’s not like they are good at taking away weapons, as we’ve seen over these last couple of weeks. And it’s been four weeks since a team has scored less than 21 points on this chief defense teams are averaging 28 points on them over the last four weeks. So I’m going to take them over in this game.

 

All right, so it looks like all of is pretty anonymous here. I was looking at a stat earlier and all signs point that Casey wins this game. As far as covering the seven and a half. You know that that’s debatable. I wouldn’t recommend laying 358 on anything, but it is a lot, a lot, a lot. A lot of stats to show that the home team will win this game.

 

You know, give me that That’s a little bit of hype going into that though because Cincinnati’s never got to this point, you got, you know, a second-year quarterback against a proven, you know, superstar and Patrick Mahomes. So the hype is on Kansas City, obviously to win the game. I don’t fall into that hype, because Cincinnati is really proved to be an excellent team. And they’ve been very consistent over the last several weeks. So don’t fall into that hype. You know, everyone thinking Mahomes Mahomes Mahomes. 

Yeah, guys, the guys golden don’t get me wrong. But that’s all hype. That Kansas, you know, they make it seem like this is a walk-in-the-park game. This is not gonna be a walk-in-the-park game for Kansas City, because of Cincinnati plays the way they played the last 789 weeks. They can play with this team. We’ve already seen that a few weeks back, you know, just beat them. Yeah, they beat well, yeah, they beat them.

 But they shut them down in the second half of the game since Kansas City came out Stohlman In the first half. And they couldn’t do absolutely Jack in the second half nothing. They think they kick the field goal when he was 28. They were up by double digits at 2814. That and then in the second half, they only kicked one field goal. So don’t fall into the hype guys of this Kansas City, Kansas City, Kansas City, there is another team there. And this other team happens to be playing extremely well. Can they get blown out? Oh, of course, anything could happen Mahomes could throw for 450 yards and pick them apart all day and borrow has the worst game he had in weeks.

 I mean, anything’s possible. I don’t think a Holmes is going to have a bad game. That guy very really does have a bad game. So I’m sure Kenny feels probably the same way on certain things. And he might bring up a point or two but yeah, Mahomes is going to be steady. The key factors borrow, the key factor is mixing. They open up the running game, and then they have Chase and borrow what weapons they’re gonna stay in this game against Mahomes and company.

 

You know, besides the players, guys, remember coaching, so all about coaching through, you know, Cincinnati, a great coach and another good coach, really good. Have a good game plan. Look what coaching did last week with buffalo. That’s why they’re not playing tomorrow, right? If it was about just a player’s different, but when you have coaches making some amazing play calls and knowing what to do in different situations, that’s what you want. And I really believe Cincinnati will have a really good game plan tomorrow. 

I think they’re going to be playing the game more as putting more pressure on Kansas City and making Mahomes Do things he doesn’t like to do. But at the end of the game, I promised that he won’t make the mistake that the buffalo coach made last week, no way. I mean, he lost all his guys a chance for playing possibly for the Super Bowl, because of just not being in the moment. And he was letting the moment take over him and let instead of him taking over the moment.

 

It’s funny how things change because when Andy Reid was a head coach for Philly, he was so-conservative, but now with a weapon like Mahomes. Look how different is he’ll go for fourth downs. They’ll do things like and even coach for Cincinnati. That’s what I like about this game because these guys will go for it. If they’re fourth into a fourth and three, they are even on their side of the ball. I think these teams are going for it both coaches have that you know gunslinger approach. And that’s what makes this game so interesting that keeping things like that could be the big difference in the game goal for fourth and short, deepen your territory and you miss it gives you the other team the opportunity to take possession to put up a field goal or possible touchdown. That’s what’s going to be the key factor in this game. And obviously, if there’s a key turnover, but yeah, like Kenny said coaching is really important, especially this time of the year because the buffalo coach, definitely made a big-time mistake in that. That game last week, no doubt about it.

 

If I’m on our buffalo, he would have been fired. I don’t care who he is what his records were in the past. You don’t get these opportunities. Okay. Yeah, Brady, he’s always used to it all these guys. But you don’t get these opportunities. I mean, but Mahomes Look at this. Four years in the league. Now he’s playing his fourth championship game. Okay, great coach, the great talent around him. And he makes amazing decisions. So that’s why it’s gonna be hard to beat Kansas City, but I just don’t think that they can score that many points where they’re gonna blow Cincinnati out of the game.

 

All right, let’s move on to the next game. This one’s a little more evenly matched. They’re actually playing in LA where the Superbowl is going to be taking place. You got the Rams at home. Three and a half point spread money lines minus 181. Nine is plus three and a half moneyline 150 plus 152. Total 46 All the under let’s go back to dry on this one. What’s your angle here dry?

 

I mean I would I don’t think this game finishes any more than a field goal difference I think the 40 Niners getting if you’re getting three and a half I tried to get it to three and a half four I take the 40 Niners here. Kyle Shanahan has owned this rams team. I think he’s been him six straight times and seven of the last 10 They’ve played they have the 40 Niners have won against the Rams on McVeigh. So I’m gonna take the 40 Niners plus three and a half here. I wouldn’t be surprised if they won this game they just beat them. 

They came back from a 17 point deficit like two weeks ago I believe three weeks ago last game of the season and it’s all like the Rams weren’t playing for anything the Rams needed that win to win the division. They got lucky that the Cardinals lost but um, I do think the Niners can keep this game close if not win this game. And especially with the weapons Debo Samuel, and then with their physicality and how they run the football.

 

What do you do where do you see the total going?

 

Total I weird I took them over two weeks or two weeks ago and I hate last time. The total is giving me some problems here. I don’t really know which way to go. But if I had to choose I’d probably take the under I think there’s gonna be you know, a control o’clock running game.

 

All right, Kenny. Let’s go back to you. Rams Niners. What’s your take?

 

This is my best game of the year of all games. You look at a lot of things here. San Francisco went into Green Bay, right. And they beat Rogers. Unbelievably cold night atoms. And now they’re coming into the RAM. So it looks like wow, this San Francisco team. They beat Green Bay on the road. And now they’re coming into the Rams. They should do well. Well, I’m looking at the other way. I think because San Fran has beat the Rams twice in a row this year. It’s tough to beat a team twice. Now they’re going to try to go for a third you know to win third-row I think where the defensive line for the Rams where they have you know, Donald and now they know they have Miller and they’re all gelling together. And I think that game is a major force now on offense for the Rams with a cop-out there. I think it’s a blow up. I think the Rams gonna build this team out. I don’t think it’s gonna be close.

 

Alright, that’s a bold statement, my friend. I mean, right right now I’m seeing 51% of the money on the Niners. 49% on the Rams pre pretty evenly matched. I could sway it a game time. But all right, man, you’re gonna take the Rams minus the points. Scott, what do you see here?

 

I see. An unbelievable opportunity. Guys. I’m gonna call this my Beep beep beep beep back up the truck and get paid daily. It’s not gonna happen. Ken, you’re living in a fantasy? Because let me explain something to you. All the numbers guys are sharper than anybody. They made the same number three and a half. It hasn’t done a thing on this game. Why is thinking about it is the do factors? Okay? If they’ve won six in a row, they just beat them after being down 17? Nothing. They stormed back to win the game.

 Why are they only opening up the same number on this game? Again? If if the Rams were right, this line would have been just slightly higher, in my opinion, about four and a half even you know that difference? Yet? It does make a difference when you think like I think and let me tell you something. The 49 is for real. They shut down Aaron Rodgers. I don’t get what the weather conditions are. You can make excuses. You could say well was the weather, Oh, was this? No, they shut him down. 

They made him look bad. He had a terrible game. And let me tell you something, this team is real. They’re playing real Garofolo is not even doing that much. And they’re still finding ways to win. That defense is showing up. But it needs to show up this stopping other teams from doing things that they normally do. I love the dog in this game. I think they beat him for the seventh time in a row. And let me tell you the best stat of all that no one’s even talking about which I’ve talked about. The last three times we talked about San Fran. And then oh, in January games in the last 10 games that 10 And O against the spread. This team comes to play.

 

Not tomorrow, not tomorrow. Sunday whenever they’re gonna play. The game is grapple. Oh, it’s gonna be crap alone after this game. No, after this game. Let me tell you something. You’re gonna see how many guys have carried off the field. All right, you’re gonna hear siren f the siren. Just take Nothing you’re gonna hear at the stadium. That’s all you’re gonna hear at one by one. That’s all I will say that the whole race, put your money on the Rams if you want to have a good life

 

limit. Listen, they would doubt 17 Nelson, and they fell apart. They were up against Tampa Bay last week. What was the score? They were up by? I think 21 points. They only call him during Hey, fine. They go into low somehow, in the second half of a game. I don’t know if they just fall asleep when they got a lead like that. But if they do if they’re close, if this game is close, going into the fourth quarter, I’d be nervous. If I’m the Rams. I’d be very nervous. If this game

 

be nervous, sir. It’s not gonna be close.

What if that’s the beauty of this show? We got different opinions here. And let’s see who comes up top. Before we get to our best bet here. I do have two props and Dre as our resident prop guy, but I want you guys to chime in if you’d like. I picked the two quarterbacks for the first game. Joe Barros, passing over and the 285 and a half and Mahomes passing 289 and a half. Pretty, pretty close. Dry. We’re going to go to you what would you do with these two props?

 

Yeah, I mean, I’m taking over in this game. So I’m going to take the over on both props. I think this is just going to be a shootout similar to the week. I forgot what week it was. But the matchup they had before was 3431. And the cheese put up 28 In the first half. So I think this is going to be a shootout again. Mahomes threw for 300 has done for 378 yards and like 404 yards, and then his two playoff games this year. 

Guys are on fire. He’s unstoppable at the moment.

 

 Just he just gonna keep throwing that I think that run game, we saw that they didn’t really lean on that run game. And that Buffalo game, he had to keep up with the Buffalo offense. I think he’s gonna have to keep up with the Bengals offense here too. So I think I’m gonna take the over and both of themover on the props.

And you guys, I know you guys don’t specialize in props. Do you see a lot of passing for these two quarterbacks? Or what do you think? Well, I

 

think I agree with Dre. You know, I mean, if you’d like the over you got to feed, there’s a lot of passing. So both quarterbacks, I think should be able to throw over 300 yards, you would think so? I mean, the weapons that can be that bad Scott was saying. So with that being said, I see both these guys throwing for a lot of yards, you might you might see both guys throw over 350 Maybe for your game, that’s gonna be, I think, pretty exciting. It’s hard to get as exciting as we saw last week, with Casey and buffalo. But this can be an exciting game in a different way.

 

Well, they’re gonna definitely pull out all the stops on this one, like I said to people going out late to a going home to play.

 

So that’s another thing too. There’s a lot of pressure. If you think about it on this game for the Rams to host the Super Bowl. It’s that you know, Tampa Bay did it for the first time ever last year. But now to come back this little pressure on the Rams getting there. Then the nine is based on what everyone thought won’t even be in this spot right now. And they’re in a spot where they now they’re playing against a team they dominated against when there’s a lot of pressure on the Rams knowing all that going into this game. That’s going to be a lot of added pressure on the Rams think about that guys, because they’re trying to get to the Super Bowl in their own building against a team that’s been beating them. And the pressure I believe is on the rams and if the Rams fall behind in this game, don’t be surprised that Mr. Stafford does what he does best. Boom, interception, boom turnover. He’s gonna start chasing and when he starts chasing, that’s not good for the Rams. So that’s a key factor when you’re looking at this game. And just to let you guys know I love the teaser play. I don’t have anything on props, but I love both dogs teased up in a seven-point teaser. I take 14 and a half with the Bengals hoping that they can stay in this game which I feel they will and I would take the Niners plus 10 and a half and a two-team seven-point teaser.

 

Scouting the game start scouting the game starts here at 330 the RAM game at 630 Your time East Coast time. Yes, I was looking to see what starts at eight o’clock. So when you set that game up at halftime, you know and you can capture it something else because again, we’re talking coaching and had talked with the Rams. I mean, I don’t think you need to compare the two.

 

Let me answer your question. First. Let’s play a quick scenario. In the first half of the game what do you think in the first half you think the rams are going to be? It’s gonna be a close game or do you based on what you’re thinking the Rams will have a big lead at halftime of this game.

 

I think the Rams will be up like 24 to maybe six.

 

Okay, so you’re thinking they’re gonna come right out of the gates and just About a big leap.

 

I think the receiving Corps is amazing. They do have a running game. Yeah, you guys are right. They tried to give the game away last week to Tampa Bay with some of those turnovers. I mean, Fluke things right before halftime, the guy fumbled on the one that should have been a blowout to that game. You know, it just didn’t happen. 

They learned from it. They’re gonna come back they’re gonna play. San Francisco. Is not that good. They have a good running game. They cannot come from behind talking about interceptions. grappler always those unbelievable picks all the time. We’re gonna have fun with you. You’re gonna see special team touchdowns. All I could say is this. Please send me a beautiful text apologizing. Okay, because my professionalism is amazing. I don’t want to show it to the world that you apologize to Kenny Edwards, one of the best in the world.

 

So all right, one other question Ken for you. And it would if the game is close what if the game is tied or close at halftime?

The game is close at halftime. What would you what’s your vibe, then these 49 is having a shot. Now in

 

the game. It’s not going to be close. This game is not going to be close to half. The reason it’s three and a half is that 49 is one-two in a row. That’s why I nap any other time. If they would have split or the Rams would have won both there would be a six and a half seven-point favorite. This game is a blow that’s not a close game.

 

That’s what I said in my earlier indications. I thought the show no matter what that the line should have been higher and be in effect that they made it this number. They know that this game is good because it has the potential of being very close or another upset.

 

Alright, a lot of controversy here on the second game. So we’ll see on next week’s podcast. One you guys are going to be winning on your face. But we’re gonna have to wait and see.

Yeah, I mentioned earlier I really liked the over in the chiefs. Bengals game. It’s the same it’s roughly the same number as the Chiefs bills game was last week. And everyone’s like Well, that’s a really high number but they crushed it. The chief almost caught it by themselves. So I just really liked this over I just there’s too many there’s too much Star Power on the offensive side of the ball compared to the defense level for both teams. So I’m gonna take the over as my best but

 

Kenny, what’s your best bet this weekend?

 

The best bet that’s better the year is the Rams but I know this today’s the 28th I know this will air tomorrow. But people The reason you want to come to my website is that tonight we have the NBA game. You want to take Euston against Portland. Wow. Another big winner. You’ll see I know it’s gonna be late you won’t be able to get down. That’s the reason you want to come to win is only LV calm. All I do is win. Win-win. And we’re gonna see the Rams Win. Win-Win.

And I know the last 10 games against the spread in the month of January. The dog is six and all in the last six and this matchup between these two teams, the nine is a four now, the last four get. I mean, I gotta go that’s, that’s perfect. That’s perfect. I’m gonna go to bed against that. I would get this line guys, the four and a half, like buy a full point. I would get it above four to four and a half. I’m not really worried or concerned about it. But I’d like numbers. I think the right number on this game if you can get four and a hook, get on this game. Best bet. Love it. I don’t know why you wouldn’t I think Jimmy Jesus is going to do what he does best. He’s going to be out there to manage the game. Make sure things happen. Try to keep away from those mistakes, let the Rams make the mistakes, take advantage of the mistakes and get the money.
