Football Is Back In Foxboro

giants vs patriotss

The New York Giants will travel to Foxboro to play the New England Patriots on August 11th at 7:00 pm. This game will kickoff the preseason for both of these teams and will be the second NFL game played since February. Both of these teams head into this game with different coaching personnel compared to last season and will use this game to get players acclimated to in-game play calls. Last season the Giants finished with a record of 4-13 while the Patriots finished 10-7. The Patriots made it to the playoffs but were probably better off staying home as they got dismantled in Buffalo losing 47-17, giving up five passing touchdowns to Bills quarterback Josh Allen. During preseason, players are still fighting for a position on the final 52-man roster, so expect to see everyone at their best. Caesars Casino & Sportsbook has the match result odds at -150 New York and +130 New England. Additionally, the over/under total points for the game are set at 33.5 with the over and under both being -110. New users will receive a Risk-Free Bet of up to $1500 on their first wager.

The New York Giants are expecting a better outcome this season. They got a new general manager in Joe Schoen and a new head coach in Brian Daboll who were both with the Buffalo Bills a season ago. With a record of 4-13 and a trade done with the Chicago Bears, the Giants had both pick 5 and 7 in the first round. With the 5th pick, they selected outside linebacker, Kayvon Thibodeaux, from Oregon, and at the 7th pick they took offensive tackle, Evan Neal, from Alabama. Daboll has had success as the offensive coordinator in Buffalo and will try to repeat similar success with the Giants. Luckily, he has a star running back in Saquon Barkley who is heading into his second healthy season after tearing his ACL. He also has wide receiver Kadarius Toney who was a first-round pick in last year’s draft. One concern for Daboll is his quarterback. Having had Josh Allen in Buffalo, playcalling must have been a dream. Now with Daniel Jones, it is hard to imagine the feeling remains the same. This season is very important for Jones as it is his last year on his contract. Jones, Barkley, and Toney will all look to have better seasons compared to last year and will depend on each other to get there. Fortunately for football viewers of this game, coach Daboll announced that the starters will play in this game.

The New England Patriots will head into this season without former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. He became the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders and won his first game with the team last week. As of now, the Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick will head into this game without an offensive coordinator. Interestingly they haven’t had a defensive coordinator in about five seasons so the absence of an offensive coordinator shouldn’t come as a surprise. This will be an interesting transition for their second-year quarterback Mac Jones. It would be in the team’s best interest to have the offensive starters play for a few downs to get themselves used to the new system and feel prepared for more football to come. This season will be interesting for the Patriots in terms of their division. After years of AFC East domination, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Patriots finish third in the division as the Bills will look to continue dominating. Other teams in the division have made improvements to their rosters and coaching staff’s.

Although the Giants will be playing their starters for a portion of the game, I wouldn’t be surprised if New England does the opposite. Belichick has a tendency of making decisions that have many people confused and wanting answers. I expect this game to have sloppy moments but since it is the preseason, it is important for the players to get reacclimated to getting hit and ridding themselves of rust. I think the Giants will perform better and may have an edge if the Patriots decide to rest their starters.

For our expert New York Giants vs. New England Patriots prediction take the under on the 33.5 total points scored in the game.
