It’s a huge Big 12 Showdown in Kansas today as the Number 10 Jayhawks host the defending champ and Number 8-ranked Baylor Bears.
Last time we saw Kansas they beat Iowa State, 70-61, on the road to improve to 18-3 in a game they were playing without their leading scorer, Ochai Agbaji, who missed the game due to COVID-19 protocols. While the Jayhawks got the good news that he will be back today they will still be missing the league’s preseason player of the year, Remy Martin, who is out for an extended period of time with a knee injury.
As for Baylor, the Bears are coming off an 81-77 victory over West Virginia and they were also short-handed, playing without leading scorer LJ Cryer and starting guard Adam Flagler. Both are going to try and play today, but neither will be 100 percent healthy.
Having said that, we can’t resist laying this short number with Kansas. If there’s one thing Baylor learned last year during its run to a national championship it’s that you need to be 100 percent healthy in late March and the games in February aren’t nearly as important.
Since the start of the 2018 season, Kansas is 54-3 on its home court, so anytime they are laying single digits we are looking to get to the window and bet them. Winning the Big 12 is a big deal to the Jayhawks and their fans and with their leading scorer back on the court, you can be sure to see a top-notch effort.
