Ok, let’s get to our Alabama vs Georgia 2021 prediction.

One thing we know for sure heading into today’s SEC Championship Game: The Winner will be advancing to the College Football Playoff. The caveat here is that even if Georgia gets upset today, they will still be in the playoff, while Alabama, on the other hand, probably needs to win today in order to move on to the playoffs and defend their national title, or they’ll need a lot of help elsewhere.

Regardless of all of that, this game is very unique in that this is the first time in 92 games, dating back to October of 2015, that the Tide is listed as an underdog. But it’s for good reason, as this year’s edition of the Georgia Bulldogs is not only the undisputed best team in the country right now, but the Dawgs may very well have the best defense in college football history.

Before you accuse me of exaggerating, all you need to do is look at the numbers. Georgia is ranked Number 1 in the country in points allowed per game, yards allowed per game, and yards allowed per play. They have allowed just 83 points all season long and since beating Clemson, 10-3, in the season opener way back in August, Georgia has won every game by 17 points or more.

So, when we look at this game, you have to try and predict how the Alabama offense will fare against this ferocious Georgia defense and we think they will struggle just like everyone else has this year. Alabama ranks just 95th in the country this year running the ball and if they are forced to pass the ball and play from behind, their shaky offensive line could be in trouble as they rank just 86th in the country in defending the quarterback sack and will be going up against a Dawgs defensive front that is sixth best in the nation in sack percentage.

But while we think the Bama offense will be limited, we are not going to lay the points with Georgia and go against Nick Saban as a TD underdog. Where we think the value lies in this game today is the under. Because of their defense, the Dawgs have gone under in six of their last 8 games and the only two games that went over were against Tennessee and cupcake Charleston Southern, when they scored 41 and 56 points on offense.

As we already stated, we think Bama struggles to score today, but the same goes for the Bulldogs, who will be facing the best defense they’ve seen all season.

Bama ranks in the Top 7 of the country in total yards allowed per play AND per game and they have held seven opponents to their season low in total yards, including five of their last six games.

So, for our Georgia vs Alabama prediction, we will go under the total of 49.5 points.
