Ok, let’s get to the Cowboys vs Saints Thursday Night Football game.

The big news this week concerning this game has been the COVID-19 issues that Dallas has been dealing with. Head Coach Mike McCarthy will not be at the game because of COVID protocols and as many as seven other coaches are also being affected. The pointspread only dropped a half-point from the opener of 5 points so the betting marker doesn’t think it’s going to have too much of an impact on the field and neither do we as Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn will step in and he has plenty of head coaching experience as he took the Falcons to the Super Bowl in 2017.

Dallas is coming off two straight losses and their offense hasn’t been the same without the services of their two deep threat wide receivers — CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper — but both are expected to be back. When healthy, the Cowboys offense has been one of the best units in the entire NFL, and they have been especially good against losing teams, going 5-0 against the spread this season and in those games they have averaged 36 points per game.

The struggling Saints most certainly fall into the category of “losing team” as New Orleans has lost four in a row and have allowed 71 points in their last two games. And while the Saints have historically been a great home underdog, they’re just 1-2 ATS in that role the last two seasons and this is simply a totally different team without the services of the retired Drew Brees or the injured Jamies Winston at quarterback.

Put it all together and we think this number is cheap and we fully expect the Dallas passing offense to get back in the groove tonight against a Saints secondary that ranks 26th in yards per pass allowed and 26th in passing yards allowed per game. Take the Cowboys -4.5!
