Miami Heat at Boston Celtics: Conference Finals Game 2 Prediction, Player Props, and Betting Tips

The NBA Playoff’s Eastern Conference Final between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics continues on Friday, May 19th with a pivotal Game 2 matchup (8:30 PM EST, TNT). Boston will host Miami once again and will look to recoup their losses after a disappointing Game 1 defeat. After beating the Celtics 123-116 on Wednesday, the Heat are now a perfect 3-0 in Game 1 matchups. However, Miami has not won a Game 2 this postseason, while the Celtics are 2-0 in Game 2. The Heat remain the underdogs (ML +310), and the Celtics, who are still expected to win the series despite losing Game 1, are heavily favored in Friday’s contest (ML -400).

The Miami Heat (+9; ML +310)

The dark horse team of the tournament does it again. The Miami Heat continue to defy expectations, and with their Game 1 victory over the Celtics, Miami has solidified themselves as a legitimate title contender. It’s not fair that the Heat had to work this hard to gain the respect of their peers, but when you’re the 8 seed, no one expects you to make it out of the First Round, let alone all the way to the Conference Finals. Yet here they are, one round away from another Finals appearance, and putting the smack down on the overall favorites. Jimmy Butler continued his legendary playoff performance, recording 35 points, 7 assists, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds in Game 1, but the Heat will need their main man to have an even bigger day in Game 2 against a vengeful Boston Celtics team looking to put the hurt on Miami.

The Boston Celtics (-9; ML -400)

The Celtics became the latest victims of the Heat on Wednesday night. Boston entered Game 1 as -8.5 point favorites, but lost by 7 points in front of their home fans in the series opener. After giving up an unfathomable 46 points in the 3rd quarter to Miami, the Celtics never recovered, and ultimately fell prey to the grossly underrated Miami Heat. However, Boston will recover, and I don’t expect them to take the next game lying down. The Celtics have not lost a Game 2, nor have they lost twice-in-a-row at home this postseason, and with a lineup full of incredible players, I wouldn’t be surprised if Game 2 is a blowout victory for the Boston Celtics.

Heat vs. Celtics: Bold Player Prop

Bam Adebayo (Heat Center): Over 18.5 Points (-120)

After Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo is the most important player on Miami’s roster. The 25-year old 6’ 9” Center is averaging 18.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks per game in the playoffs, and is just one of two players averaging 30+ minutes per game for Miami, Jimmy Butler being the second. Bam’s athleticism and size makes him one of the best Centers in the NBA, and against a relatively undersized Boston squad, Bam has an opportunity to take over this series. I predict Adebayo will seize his opportunity, and in Game 2, Miami’s big man will go over 18.5 points.

Heat vs. Celtics Game 2 Prediction

Take Boston to win convincingly in Game 2 over Miami. Despite Miami’s magic this postseason, not every game can have a fairy tale ending, and I expect the Celtics to dominate on Friday night. Boston has not lost a Game 2 in these playoffs and I don’t see them losing twice-in-a-row to Miami. The Celtics are the best team left in the playoffs, and with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown headlining, they’re not going to lose many games. The Heat had an unexpectedly phenomenal 3rd Quarter in Game 1, but a defensively disciplined team like the Celtics aren’t likely to let that happen again, and knowing they can’t afford to go down 0-2 in the Series, Boston will enter Game 2 ready to take it to Miami.

Prediction: Boston Celtics Cover The Spread (-9)
