Matchup: Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
The NBA season is nearing its endpoint and the playoffs are right around the corner. But before we get to the postseason, we have a can’t miss Eastern Conference matchup between the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. The Heat have been all over the place this season, posting long winning streaks only to fall back down after bouts of inconsistent scoring. Miami is currently 8th in the East, but are very much in the running for a top-6 finish and an automatic playoff berth. Conversely, the Cavs have been a force all season, posting the 3rd best record in the East. Cleveland can thank their defense for this season’s success, but on Wednesday night the Cavs face another defensive powerhouse in the Miami Heat.
Below you’ll find all of our picks for the Heat vs. Cavaliers, including stats, scores, and betting advice. We’ll help you navigate the odds and provide helpful betting tips for Wednesday’s matchup between the Heat and Cavaliers.

Heat vs. Cavaliers History
Wednesday night marks the 129th regular season matchup between the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. Miami holds a commanding lead of the series, posting a 77-51 record over the Cavaliers. The series began in 1988, and since then the Cavs and Heat have faced each other at least 3 times a season. This season’s series is tied 1-1, with Miami taking game one (129-96) and Cleveland securing game 2 (111-99). The Heat are a decent road team, and have won back-to-back games in Cleveland. The Cavs will look to snap that streak, but with several key injuries on the docket, Cleveland will be hard pressed to stop Miami from extending their streak.
Heat vs. Cavaliers Game Predictions
The Cleveland Cavaliers are dealing with several key injuries, so I’m going with the Miami Heat in this one. Cleveland’s biggest setback is the loss of their leading scorer Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell broke his nose and has been ruled out for at least a week as he undergoes a procedure to repair the nasal fracture. Cleveland will also be without two talented shooters in Max Strus and Dean Wade, leaving Cleveland bereft of scorers against Miami’s suffocating defense. On the other side, Miami’s Jimmy Butler is questionable to play, and Tyler Herro remains sidelined with a foot injury, potentially leaving Miami without their top-two scorers.
The O/U total is set at just 203.5 points, but with all the injuries, as well as the defensive quality from both teams, I can’t imagine this will be a high-scoring game, so along with Miami’s moneyline, I’m also taking the under. The Heat hit the under in 75% of their road games, more than any other team in the NBA. Terry Rozier and Bam Adebayo will lead Miami, while Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen will lead Cleveland, but with just two consistent scorers on either side, defense will be the star of the show in this one.
In summary, here are my picks for the Heat vs. Cavaliers Wednesday night matchup:
- Moneyline Pick: Miami Heat (+124)
If you take the Heat Moneyline (+124): You bet $100 to win $124, for a total payout of $224, if the Heat win straight up.
- ATS Pick: Miami Heat (+3)
If you take the Heat to Cover the +3.0 Spread (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Heat win the game, or lose by less than 3 points.
- O/U Pick: Under (203.5)
If you take the Under on 203.5 total points (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Heat and Cavs combine for less than 203 points.
