Ok, let’s get to our Lakers vs. Grizzlies predictions.
We have a big western conference matchup between two future playoff teams tonight. Many thought the Grizzlies would sputter after Ja Morant went down with a left knee sprain. No one told the Grizzlies that, though, they’ve ripped off five straight wins since Ja went down in a loss to the Hawks. This includes the biggest win in NBA history when they beat the Thunder by 73 points. On the other side, after stumbling to begin the season, even being under .500 at one point, the Lakers and their big three are starting to find their footing. After dismantling the Celtics 117-102 two nights ago, they’ve now won 3 of their last 4. The “big three” is starting to catch fire after scoring a combined 71 points against the Celtics.
Looking at this line, it is kind of interesting that a team this hot is at home and getting three points. I think the public will be on the streaking Grizzlies here at home. Looking deeper, though, we can see the Grizzlies are coming off a back-to-back while the Lakers will be well-rested. The Lakers are finally figuring it out. We are going to take the Lakers -3 here. There is just too much offensive firepower on the Lakers for the Grizzlies to match, especially having played last night. The Lakers are averaging 120 points over their last seven while the Grizzlies are averaging 113. That number includes the 152 put up against the Thunder. Take that away, and the number drops to 106. The Lakers’ offense will be too much for the Grizzlies. Lebron and company should cover the -3.
