Boston Celtics Leading The East
The Boston Celtics are atop the East once again. At 15-5, the Celtics have the best record in the conference, making them the favorite in almost every game, even against other top-shelf teams. Boston will host one of said top teams tomorrow night when they face the New York Knicks. The Knicks are 12-8, putting them 5th in the East, 3 games behind the Celtics. Boston has all the favor in this matchup, as they are 2-0 against the Knicks and 9-0 at home. However, the Knicks would love nothing more than to hand the Celtics their first home loss.
It’s a great matchup, and I’m expecting a close game, but I’m going with the Boston Celtics in this one. The Knicks are definitely a playoff caliber team, but the Celtics out-match them by a hair. Boston’s Jayson Tatum is a one man scoring machine, averaging 27.6 points per game on the season, and 34.5 points per game against the Knicks.
New York has a great defense, allowing the fewest points per game in the East (107.5), but for some reason they can’t stop Tatum and the Celtics, especially at home. Boston has been lights out in TD Garden, scoring 123.0 points per game, while shooting 50.2% from the field and 40.6% from Three. The Knicks average 111.3 points on the road, and will struggle to keep up with Boston on their home court.
So for our Knicks vs. Celtics expert pick, take the Boston Celtics Moneyline on Friday.
