First Ever Final of the In-Season Tournament

The LA Lakers and Indiana Pacers will face off tomorrow night in the first ever In-season Tournament Final. It’s a single game, winner take-all style matchup, with a prize of $500,000 for every player on the winning team. Both the Lakers and the Pacers are undefeated at 6-0 in tournament play, meaning the champion will have won every single tournament game they played. The Lakers are 4 point favorites, but the Pacers look sharp this season. In the tournament, LA is averaging 122.2 points per game, shooting 50.6% from the field and 44.9% from Three, while Indiana is averaging 132.7 points per game, shooting 51.0% from the field and 41.1% from Three.

It should be a fantastic final, but I am going with the Indiana Pacers to win the first ever In-Season Tournament. Lebron James put on a show in the Semi-final, recording 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists, leading the Lakers to a 133-89 thrashing of the Pelicans. It reminded us how dangerous James is in big games, but he and the Lakers will have a hard time slowing the Pacers down. Indiana is the top-scoring team in the NBA, averaging 128.4 points per game. The Lakers average 113.1 points per game, a substantial difference compared to Indiana. The Pacers are continually overlooked, but they’re a great team with great players, who truly believe they can win.

So for our Pacers vs. Lakers expert pick, take the Indiana Pacers Moneyline (+150) on Saturday. Click here to see the latest odds on this matchup.
