Matchup: Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Separated by just one game, the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves will go head-to-head in a pivotal Western Conference matchup this Tuesday. The Nuggets are half a game back from leading the West and half a game up on the Timberwolves. Minnesota and Denver are two of the best teams not just in the West but in the entire league, and while both will certainly be in the postseason, their seeding remains a mystery. Minnesota beat Denver 110-89 in their first matchup, but with three more matchups on the schedule, including Tuesday’s, this powerhouse series is far from over. The Nuggets enter this one as 4-point favorites, but Denver is less of a challenge on the road, and Minnesota is a tough place to visit.

Below you’ll find all of our picks for the Nuggets vs. Timberwolves, including stats, scores, and betting advice. We’ll help you navigate the odds and provide helpful betting tips for Tuesday’s matchup between the Nuggets and Timberwolves.

Nuggets vs. Timberwolves History

Tuesday will mark the 2nd matchup of the season and the 143rd matchup of all-time between the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves. Denver leads the series 87-55 over Minnesota. Over the course of the series the Nuggets are 40-32 against the T-Wolves on the road, however in Denver’s last 5 visits to Minnesota they went 1-4. This season the Timberwolves have won 74.2% of their home games, while the Nuggets have won 57.1% of their away games. Denver may be the favorite, but the Timberwolves protect the den.

Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Game Predictions

Tuesday’s matchup between Denver and Minnesota could be a prelude to the postseason. Both sides are nearly guaranteed to make the playoffs, but as the reigning champions Denver has more experience in clutch moments, so I’m taking the Nuggets money line against the Timberwolves. Minnesota may have won the first matchup, but that was when Karl-Anthony Towns was healthy. Towns had 21 points in Minnesota’s win over the Nuggets, but a knee injury has kept the big man sidelined since March 4th, and KAT won’t be on the court against Denver this Tuesday.

Unlike Minnesota, Denver has no key injuries listed on their report. Nikola Jokic continues to shine, and is once again in the running for the MVP. Jokic has led the Nuggets to an 8-2 record in their last 10, and while it’s not always pretty, Denver knows how to win tough games. Minnesota offers a unique challenge with their hardnose defense, but without Towns downlow, Jokic will feast. I’m expecting a great matchup in a playoff-esque environment, and while the Timberwolves are bound to keep it close, I’m putting my money on Denver to secure the victory.

In summary, here are my picks for the Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Tuesday night matchup:

  • Moneyline Pick: Denver Nuggets

If you take the Nuggets Moneyline (-170): You risk $170 to win $100, for a total payout of $270, if the Nuggets win straight up.

  • ATS Pick: Minnesota Timberwolves (+4)

If you take the Timberwolves to Cover the +4.0 Spread (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Timberwolves win the game, or lose by less than 4 points.

  • O/U Pick: Over (213.5)

If you take the Over on 213.5 total points (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Nuggets and Timberwolves combine for less than 214 points.
