Matchup: Phoenix Suns vs. Sacramento Kings
We have a can’t miss NBA game slated for Friday night, as the 7th seed Phoenix Suns take on the 8th seed Sacramento Kings. Both the Suns and the Kings have a guaranteed spot in the play-in, but with a win on Friday, and a Pelicans loss, Phoenix or Sacramento could break into the top-6, securing an automatic playoff berth. It’s all for naught without a win on Friday though, so this matchup will certainly feel like a playoff game. Oddsmakers have the Suns slightly favored by 3-points, but in their only visit to Sacramento this season Phoenix lost 105-120. It’s always a thrilling game when the Suns and Kings meet, as the season series is tied 2-2, but with the playoffs on the line Friday’s contest is destined to be the best one yet.
Below you’ll find all of our picks for the Suns vs. Kings game, including stats, scores, and advice. We’ll help you navigate the odds and provide helpful betting tips for Friday’s matchup between the Suns and Kings.

Suns vs. Kings Matchup History
- Regular Season Games: 249 (1968-2024)
- All-time Series: Suns 145 wins; Kings 104 wins
- Season Series: Tied 2-2
Friday’s key contest will mark the 250th regular season meeting between the Suns and Kings since the series began in 1968. Historically, Phoenix has done well against the Kings, posting a 145-104 record and 58.2% win-rate, but Sacramento had a 4-game win streak heading into the season. That streak was broken after the Suns beat the Kings 119-117 and then again when Phoenix won 130-125. Now the Suns hold a 2-game win streak over the Kings, as Phoenix looks to extend their run when the two rivals go head-to-head in Friday’s pivotal Western Conference matchup.
Suns vs. Kings Prediction
It’s been an even series, but I’m going with the favored Phoenix Suns over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. The Suns will take the series 3-2 and move into a position to snag the 6th seed in the West. It would be a tremendous achievement for a Suns team that has been up and down all year, but Phoenix would still need the Pelicans to lose in order to win an automatic playoff bid. Regardless, I like the Suns over the Kings, despite Phoenix being the road team, because the Suns are at full strength while the Kings are still without their second unit leader and 3rd-best scorer, Malik Monk. Monk continues to nurse a knee injury, and the Kings are 1-3 in their last 4 games without him, while the Suns Big-3 (Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, & Bradley Beal) are firing on all cylinders, averaging a combined 69.7 points per game in Phoenix’s last 5 outings.
Suns vs. Kings predictions:
- Moneyline Pick: Phoenix Suns (-148)
If you take the Suns Moneyline (-148): You risk $148 to win $100, for a total payout of $248, if the Suns win straight up.
- ATS Pick: Phoenix Suns (-3.0)
If you take the Suns to Cover the -3.0 Spread (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Suns win the game by more than 3 points.
- O/U Pick: Over (225)
If you take the Over on 225 total points (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Suns and Kings combine for more than 225 points.
