Yankees look to continue dominance over Rays

 

The Yankees are on track for 120 wins. They are the best team in baseball by six games as they sit at 50-17. They had won nine in a row before their win streak was ended by the Blue Jays last game. The Yankees had a five run lead and blew it. 

The Rays aren’t playing very well right now. They are coming off of a loss to the Yankees and are 2-8 in their last ten games. They have lost six of their last seven games. The Rays are now 36-31 on the season and have now fallen to fourth in the division behind the Red Sox.

The Yankees have absolutely dominated the Rays lately. They have won four in a row and seven of the last nine games against these Rays. I think the total in this game is a bit low. Shane Baz will be on the mound for the Rays and even though he had a good start last time out in his only other start of the season he went to 2.1 innings and gave up five runs. The Yankees will have Jordan Montgomery on the mound who has been pretty good lately but is capable of giving some runs as he has given up at least two runs in eight of his 12 starts.
