Two teams playing for nothing face off in Miami
The Marlins are 60-87 on the season. They have already been eliminated from the playoffs and they have had a pretty horrible fall off. At one point they were 33-37 and in the Wild Card race. Sandy Alcantara is probably winning Cy Young though.
The Cubs have also been eliminated from the playoffs as they sit at 62-84. They have lost their last two games and five of their last ten. They do have some young guys that played well this season and are providing a good baseline for their future.
Pablo Lopez will be facing Adrian Sampson. Sampson has been great over his last two starts as he has only given up one run in his last twelve innings of work. Lopez was also good in his last start as he went 6.2 innings and only gave up two runs. Both of these guys are pitching well and will be facing weak offenses that have struggled to hit the ball this year.
