It’s Thursday, April 18th and this is our free MLB prediction for the Angels vs. Rays. 

The game is in Tampa and starts at 1:10 PM Eastern.

So let’s break this one down…

The Rays are heating up, winning 7 of their last 10, including a 7-6 win over the Angels on Tuesday. 

It’s not the record breaking start Tampa Bay enjoyed last year, when they began the season a perfect 13-0, but their 10-8 record is good enough to earn the Rays a top-10 spot in the AL. 

The Angels are once again struggling with consistency, winning just 4 of their last 10, but they’re just 1.5 games back from the Rays. 

However, with Griffin Canning expected to start for the Angels, LA will struggle to beat the Rays. 

Canning is 0-2 with a 9.88 ERA, a 1.83 WHIP, and 21 hits in 13.2 innings pitched. So far the Rays batting has been unexceptional, but Canning and the Angels don’t pose much of a challenge.
