Padres host Mets
The Padres have really exceeded expectations throughout this season. Many thought that they would tread water until Fernando Tatis and Blake Snell got back. But hot starts from Eric Hosmer and Manny Machado have this team sitting at 33-21, the fifth best record in the MLB.
The Mets are 37-19 on the season and own the second best record in the MLB behind the Yankees. Their offense has been incredible this season. They are also still waiting on Jacob Degrom and Max Scherzer to return from injury. They are coming off of back-to-back wins over the Dodgers in what was a very competitive series.
I think this number is a bit too low. These are two of the best offensive teams in baseball and I know we have two decent pitchers on the mound that are both capable of giving up runs. Darvish gave up five runs in his last start and Taijuan Walker gave up two. The Padres are averaging almost six runs a game over their last three.
