Now let’s get to our New York Mets vs Pittsburgh Pirates prediction. 

Mighty Mets 

The New York Mets are currently in a great spot as the number two seed in the National League wildcard picture. They have a record of 85–50 and had they been in the American League that would’ve had them within two games of the top spot but unfortunately for them they play in the same conference as the Los Angeles Dodgers who have been the best team in baseball this season. But they have to be careful not to become too complacent with where they’re at and start losing games that they shouldn’t be losing. A prime example of this is the fact that they are currently on a two game losing streak handed to them by the nationals twice. Yes that’s right the same Washington nationals they currently have the worst record in all of major league baseball won a series against the New York Mets. The Mets have a good opportunity tonight to right those back to back wrongs and bully a different poor team. I fully expect them to take advantage of this opportunity especially as they are sending out Chris Bassit. The righty is 5-0 in his last seven starts with a 2.38 ERA in 45.1 innings. The 33-year-old has now pitched six innings or more in 12 of his last 13 starts.
