The Astros are now 45-27 on the season. They are the second best team in the AL behind only the Yankees. They have a 10.5 game lead in the AL West. They are coming off of a walk off loss to the Yankees after leading the whole game.

The Mets are now 47-27 on the season. They are also coming off of a walk off loss to the Marlins. They are the best team in the NL and lead the league in total runs scored. They now host the Astros in a big series and maybe a World Series preview.

Frankie Valdez and Carlos Carrasco will be on the mound in this game. Valdez is clearly the better picture as he has a ERA 1.5 points higher. Valdez hasn’t given up more than three runs in a start in 11 straight starts. While Carrasco has given up five runs in two of his last three starts. Carrasco is not pitching well as of late. I think the Astros offense jumps on him while Valdez cuts through the Mets lineup.
