Burnes bounceback?
The Brewers are coming off of a 3-2 loss to the Phillies. They have lost four straight games as they were swept by the Padres. The Cardinals are now only half a game back of them in the division. The Brewers are now 33-24 on the season.
The Phillies are heading in the opposite direction. They have won five games in a row after firing their manager. They are now 26-29 on the season. They are two games back of the Braves now and 10.5 games back of the Mets.
Corbin Burnes is coming off of a horrible start where he gave up eight hits and five runs in only 3.2 innings pitched. This won’t happen again as Burnes is the reigning NL Cy Young and has still been really good this season. Zach Eflin is on the mound for the Phillies here and he has not been very consistent this season. He is 2-4 with a 3.88 ERA. I am going to take the proven commodity in Burnes over the erratic play of Eflin.
