Astros and Twins Are Neck-and-Neck In Divisional Series
The MLB Playoffs are underway, and after a thrilling Wild Card round, only 8 teams remain. Two of those teams are the Minnesota Twins and the Houston Astros, who have matched up in the ALDS. Through 2 games, the Twins and Astros are tied 1-1. Houston took Game 1, beating Minnesota 6-4, recording 9 hits, 3 home runs, 6 RBI’s, and 13 strikeouts. Then the Twins came roaring back, stealing Game 2 by a score of 6-2, and recording 10 hits, 1 home run, 6 RBI’s, and 8 strikeouts. It’s been a tightly contested series, and Game 3 is shaping up to be an exciting matchup.
It’s been a hard fought series so far, but for Game 3, I like the Minnesota Twins. The reigning World Series champion Astros know how to handle themselves in the postseason, but the Twins will be bolstered by their home fans. Minnesota hasn’t played an ALDS home game in 4 years, and the Twins fervent fans are itching to give their support.
The Twins pitching has been fantastic, recording the 3rd-best ERA (2.31) of the playoffs. Houston on the other hand, is posting the 8th-best ERA (5.00), and the Astros gave up 10 runs in 2 games. Houston’s Yordan Alvarez has been a thorn in Minnesota’s side, as the 26-year old All-Star has 3 home runs and 5 RBI’s in his two ALDS games, but Alvarez can’t do it alone, and Houston will lose Game 3 unless they see better production from the rest of the team.
So for our Astros vs. Twins expert pick, take the Minnesota Twins -135 Moneyline, which means you can risk $135 to win $100, for a total payout of $235, if the Twins win Game 3 on Tuesday.
