AL playoff preview?
The Astros are just a well oiled machine. They have cemented themselves as the best team in the AL over the last couple of months. They are now 96-51 on the season and they have won eight of their last ten games. They have a 7.5 game cushion on the rest of the AL.
The Rays are 82-64 right now. They are on track to make the playoffs but need to keep playing well down the stretch. They did win their last two games over the Rangers but they have only won four of their last six games.
This is an incredible pitching matchup as Shane McClanahan will face Christian Javier. McClanahan is 12-5 record and a 2.13 ERA on the season. He probably would have won Cy Young if he had not gotten injured. Javier is 9-9 on the season but his record is misleading as he has a 2.87 ERA and a sub 1 WHIP. I have to take the under with these two pitchers here. These guys haven’t given up a run in their last 17 combined innings of pitching.
So for our Astros vs. Rays expert pick take the under 7 runs
