Georgia Southern had a strong start to the season but are in their worst form of the year sitting on a 4 game losing streak. They finished the season 6-6 and 9th in the Sun Belt conference. Their offense has been solid averaged 30.9 points per game and over 422 yards which were ranked 47th and 41st in the country. Carried by a top 15 passing offense this team can score at will. On the other side of the ball they have trouble stopping anyone. They allow over 29 points per game and just under 400 yards per game which rank 95th and 97th in the country.
Ohio had a pretty solid season going 9-3 and finishing 3rd in the Mid-American conference. They will not be the team you have seen all season as they will be decimated with opt outs. The offense was decent averaging around 23 a game but will without their quarterback and top 3 rushers. This defense has been stellar allowing just 15.4 points per game which was good for 5th best in the country. On defense they will remain strong only losing 1 starter.
Take Georgia Southern in this one. Ohio is the better team here but I don’t see them scoring the ball without their offensive firepower. Ohio strong defense will keep this game close but I don’t think the Bobcats will be able to recover from these opt outs. So for our Georgia Southern v Ohio expert pick take the Eagles -2.5
