Miami OH had a great season finishing 11-2 and atop the MAC conference with their only losses coming to Miami and Toledo. This is their 7th bowl game in the last season and they are coming off a win over Toledo in the conference championship avenging their previous loss. Miami OH will be without their starting quarterback on an already struggling offense which is ranked 118th. The defense on the other side has been stellar ranked 1st in the MAC and 26th in the country.

Appalachian State had a decent season going 8-5 on the year and coming 2nd in the Sun Belt Conference. The Mountaineer offense has been great this year ranked 15th in the country but will have a tough task against a stout Miami OH defense. On the other side the Mountaineers have been mediocre at best ranking 73rd nationally on the defensive side.

Take Appalachian State in this one. I think this would be a pretty even matchup if everyone was healthy but Miami OH being without their starting quarterback which should open the door for App St. The Miami OH defense will keep this from being a blowout but App State should win this one handedly.
