The Clemson Tigers head into this game with a record of 5-0 and a conference record of 3-0. Last week they won at home against the NC State Wolfpack by a final score of 30-20. At the time the Wolfpack was ranked the #10 team in the country. Clemson has stayed as the 5th ranked team in the country and will need an exceptional performance or one of the top 4 ranked teams to lose for them to enter playoff contention. In the game against NC State, quarterback DJ Uiagalelei passed for 209 yards and one touchdown. He was also able to rush for 70 yards and two touchdowns. His performance was impressive as he led the team in passing and rushing yards. Wide receiver Jake Briningstool was able to catch 4 passes from DJ and he had an important touchdown early in the second half. The Clemson Defense played well as they forced NC State to commit 2 turnovers. After 2 years, the Clemson Tigers are starting to look and play as they did in recent years.

The Boston College Eagles head into this game with a record of 2-3 and a conference record of 1-2. Last week they won against the Louisville Cardinals at home by a final score of 34-33. In that game quarterback, Phil Jurkovec, had a solid performance as he led the team in passing yards with 304. Only three of his passes were incomplete in the game and he was able to throw three touchdowns. Wide Receiver Zay Flowers caught 5 passes for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Eagles turned the ball over three times in this game but fortunately, they were still able to win. Headed into this game against the Tigers, they cannot turn the ball over if they want to have a chance and upset Clemson at home.

I think this game can be close if Boston College is able to control their turnovers. They are facing a Clemson team who seem to have finally figured out how to win consistently again. Last year this game had only 32 total points scored. In the past three weeks, both teams have been involved in games where the final score exceeded 49 total points. We like the chances of the total points scored being over 49.

For our expert, Clemson Tigers vs Boston College Eagles pick, take the over on the 48.5 total points scored.
