LOUISVILLE CARDINALS VS. NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS – 2/22/17 FREE COLLEGE BASKETBALL PICK
The Cardinals are just one game off the pace in the ACC at 10-4 straight-up following Saturday’s 94-90 victory against Virginia Tech, but after failing to cover as heavy 12.5-point favorites at home, they are 1-3 against the spread in their last four games. The total went OVER VietBet’s closing 144-point line in that game and it has gone OVER in their last five contests. Louisville is 22-5 SU on the year with a 17-8 record ATS. This includes a 5-2 record ATS on the road.
Look for another big night from sophomore guard Donovan Mitchell as the Cardinals’ leading scorer this season with 15.6 points per game. After posting 26 points against the Hokies, his scoring average in his last seven starts has soared to 21.7 points. Louisville is averaging 77.8 PPG as a team and it is holding opponents to 64.1 points on defense.
North Carolina is coming off a big 65-41 rout of Virginia this past Saturday as a 6.5-point home favorite. It is now 11-3 SU in conference play as part of an overall record of 23-5. The Tar Heels have covered in their last two games to improve to 15-13 ATS this year. They have remained a solid bet at home all season long at 10-4 ATS.
The Tar Heels’ lineup is stacked with scorers as part of a team scoring average of 86.9 PPG that is ranked sixth in the nation. They have also dominated the boards with the most rebounds per game (44) of any team in the country. Leading the way has been junior forward Justin Jackson with a team-high 18.6 points. He ended the game against the Cavaliers with 20 points and six assists.

Both of these teams come into this showdown in solid form, but I am still going with the Tar Heels covering VietBet’s 4.5-point spread on their home court as the best overall team in the ACC.
