Matchup: NC State Wolfpack vs. Duke Blue Devils

March Madness has reached the Elite Eight and on Easter Sunday 11-seed NC State will take on 4-seed Duke. NC State is the only double-digit seed left in the tournament, as the Wolfpack earned their spot in the Elite Eight by upsetting 2-seed Marquette in the Sweet 16. The last time NC State made it this far in the tournament was 1986 but the Wolfpack will be hard pressed to reach the Final Four, as they now face one of the best tournament teams in history, the Duke Blue Devils. Duke is coming off a huge win over No. 1 seed Houston, beating the Cougars 54-51 and securing Duke’s 24th Elite Eight appearance. The Blue Devils are putting together an impressive championship run once again, but Duke faces a grossly underrated NC State, who will be looking to complete their 3rd upset of the tournament.

NC State vs. Duke Game Predictions

There’s a Cinderella story every March, and this year’s unlikely contender is 11-seed NC State. The Wolfpack have utterly defied all expectations heading into March Madness, but after beating a 6-seed (Texas Tech), a 14-seed (Oakland), and a 2-seed (Marquette), NC State has become the 10th 11-seed to reach the Elite Eight. The Wolfpack’s run has been incredible to watch, and I tip my hat to head coach Kevin Keatts for getting his team this far, but I’m predicting NC State’s tournament ends in the Elite Eight. Duke is just a 4-seed, but the Blue Devils are playing like a 1-seed. The win over Houston solidified Duke’s status as a legitimate title contender, and I’m putting my money on the Blue Devils to reach their 18th Final Four in school history.

In summary, here are my picks for NC State vs. Duke Elite Eight matchup:

  • Moneyline Pick: Duke Blue Devils (-267)

If you take Duke’s Moneyline (-267): You risk $267 to win $100, for a total payout of $367, if Duke wins straight up.

  • ATS Pick: NC State Wolfpack (+6.5)

If you take NC State to Cover the +6.5 Spread (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if NC State wins the game, or loses by less than 7 points.

  • O/U Pick: Under (143)

If you take the Under on 143.0 total points (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if NC State and Duke combine for less than 143 points.
