COLLEGE BASKETBALL BETTING UPDATE- JAN. 8
Conference play is underway in college basketball and right now the ACC is leading the way with two top-five teams in the latest AP Top 25. The Duke Blue Devils are No. 1 at 12-1 straight-up with the undefeated Virginia Cavaliers holding down the fourth spot in the rankings.
As far as betting on these two ACC powers, Duke has been able to cover in nine of its first 13 games and Virginia boasts a 10-3 record against the spread. Each of these teams have covered in its last four games heading into this week’s action. As profitable as these two national powers have been, the North Carolina State Wolfpack are the top betting team in this conference at 13-1 SU with an 11-3 mark ATS.
Moving to the Big Ten, the Michigan Wolverines are currently ranked No. 2 in the AP poll at 15-0 SU. They have been able to cover in their last two games, but overall, they are 7-8 ATS. This includes a costly 4-7 record ATS on their home court. The rival Michigan State Spartans are rising up the charts with a bullet at No. 6 after posting a SU 13-2 record in their first 15 games. More importantly, they have gone 11-4 ATS on OnlineSportsBet ’ closing spread. Another hot betting team in the Big Ten has been Nebraska at 11-4 SU and 10-3-1 ATS.
The surprising Tennessee Volunteers have been the class of the SEC at 12-1 SU. They are ranked No. 3 in the latest poll. Tennessee is 6-5-1 ATS after covering in its last two contests. The hot betting team in this conference is the Ole Miss Rebels at 11-2 SU with a 12-1 record ATS. They have been able to cover in their last eight contests. Rounding out the top five teams in the rankings is the West Coast Conference’s Gonzaga Bulldogs at 14-2 SU.
