BETANYSPORTS NFL WEEK 7 HOT AND NOT
The more things appear to change in the NFL the more they stay the same. The Los Angeles Rams are the only undefeated team at 6-0 straight-up and the clear-cut favorite to win the NFC, but the New England Patriots are once again the team to go through in the AFC after knocking the Kansas City Chiefs from the ranks of the unbeaten.
The Patriots got past Kansas City 43-40 on Sunday night in a wild one in Foxborough, but they could not cover on OnlineSportsBet ’ closing 3.5-point line. They are now 4-2 SU with an even 3-3 record against the spread. The loss left the Chiefs at 5-1 SU, but they remain a perfect 6-0 ATS as the hottest betting team in the NFL.
New England goes on the road this Sunday in an early 1 p.m. start in Chicago against the Bears. The Patriots have been opened as a 3.5-point favorite with the total set at 49.5. The Bears are 3-2 both SU and ATS with a perfect 2-0 record (SU and ATS) at home.
Kansas City will be at home against Cincinnati on Sunday night as a six-point favorite with the total set at 58.5. The Bengals are 4-2 both SU and ATS and the total has gone OVER in four of their first six games.
The Rams may be perfect on the field, but they have dropped to 3-2-1 ATS after failing to cover in their last three games. The slide started with a PUSH against Minnesota as seven-point home favorites before a couple of close calls against Seattle and Denver on the road. Los Angeles plays its third-straight road game this Sunday with a trip north to San Francisco to face the 1-5 49ers in a 4:25 p.m. start at Levi’s Stadium.
The Detroit Lions are at the bottom of the standings in the NFC North at 2-3 SU, but coming off last week’s bye they are 4-1 ATS after covering in their last four games. This Sunday, the Lions return to action in a 1 p.m. road game against Miami.
OnlineSportsBet has them listed as slight one-point favorites, but that line could change based on the playing status of Dolphins’ quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
A good team to go against on Sunday could be Tampa Bay as a three-point home favorite against Cleveland. The 2-3 Bucs have lost their last three games both SU and ATS following a fast start out of the gate.
