Manchester United Fighting For Second Place
The UEFA Champions League continues tomorrow with a huge Group A match between Galatasaray and Manchester United. Germany’s Bayern Munich have already won the group, leaving an opening for either Galatasaray, Manchester United, or Copenhagen to secure second place. Right now, Man U is sitting in last place with 3-points, while Galatasaray and Copenhagen are tied with 4-points. If Manchester United lose tomorrow against Galatasaray, the Red Devils will be hard pressed to see themselves through to the Round of 16.
In other words, this is a must win game for Man U, and I think they’ll get it done. I’m taking Manchester United over Galatasaray on Wednesday. Man U is 1-0-3 through their 4 group stage games. Defense has been a major issue for the Red Devils, as they’ve given up 11 goals, the most in the group. Galatasaray beat Manchester 3-2 in their first meeting, but only because United’s Casemiro was issued a red card in the 77’ minute, and Galatasaray scored the winning goal 4-minutes later. Man U has seen a red card in 2 of their last 3 Champions League matches, so the emphasis has to be on control. United is the better team, and if they can stay disciplined, they’ll beat Galatasaray.
