Stanley Cup Finals: Vegas Golden Knights at Florida Panthers Game 3 Analysis, Prediction, and Betting Tips
Sam Batz
The Stanley Cup Finals continue on Thursday, June 8th with Game 3 between the Florida Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights (8:00 PM EST, TNT). Vegas crushed Florida in the first two games of the Finals, scoring 12 goals and allowing 4, and now lead the series 2-0 heading into Florida. It’s been a one-sided series thus far, and unless the Panthers step it up on defense, we could be looking at a sweep. The Golden Knights are playing tremendous hockey, scoring 18 combined goals in their last 3 games, yet they enter Game 3 as +1.5 goal underdogs. The Panthers are 4-3-0 (57.1%) at home this postseason, while the Golden Knights are 6-2-0 (75.0%) on the road and are hoping to take a 3-0 advantage over Florida.
The Vegas Golden Knights (-1.5; ML -131)
The Golden Knights are 14-5 (73.7%) in the playoffs, and have caught fire at the perfect time. Vegas is just 2 wins away from claiming their first Stanley Cup Trophy, and according to FiveThirtyEight, the Golden Knights have an 84% chance to win the championship. With 74 total goals, the Golden Knights sit atop the chart for the most postseason goals, and with a goal differential of +25, it’s easy to see how Vegas made it this far. They are a well-rounded, fiercely competitive side, with great team chemistry and exceptional depth on the bench. 18 different players have scored at least 1 goal, and 20 different players have 2 or more points for the Golden Knights, making Vegas one of the toughest teams to contain offensively.
The Florida Panthers (+1.5; ML +110)
The Florida Panthers are 12-6 (66.7%) in the playoffs, and after an improbable run to reach the Finals, Florida seems to have hit a wall against Vegas. They are down 0-2, which is a position they’ve been in before, but the Panthers are averaging just 2.0 goals per game against the Golden Knights, and their Goaltenders are struggling to keep the puck out of the net. Florida swept the Carolina Hurricanes to win the Eastern Conference Finals, and looked ready to claim the franchises first ever Stanley Cup Trophy, but after dropping Games 1 & 2, they have a 16% chance to beat the Golden Knights. Florida has lost more games in the Finals than they did in the previous two rounds combined, and it seems the magic that got the Panthers this far is quickly running out.

Golden Knights vs. Panthers: Game 3 Prediction
Take the Golden Knights to win Game 3 and go up 3-0 on the Panthers. Vegas has been unstoppable in recent games. The Golden Knights have scored 20 more goals than the Florida Panthers, who after 2 games against Vegas, now have a negative goal differential (-1), while the Knights are sitting at +25. Vegas has found the winning formula on offense, and with Goaltender Adin Hill averaging a 93.9% save rate in the Finals, the Golden Knights look unbeatable. Florida gets to play at home, but they’ve been at their best on the road, and the Panthers will struggle in Game 3 against the red-hot Golden Knights.
