Hurricanes vs. Devils odds, prediction, and betting tips for NHL Playoffs

 hurricanes vs devils

The Carolina Hurricanes will travel to the Prudential Center to take on the New Jersey Devils in game 4 of the second round in the Eastern Conference Playoffs (7:00 PM ET, ESPN). So far in this series the team that has played at home has won every game. New Jersey will look to continue that in this game and tie the series up 2-2 heading back to Carolina. The Devils won their first game of the series in game 3, scoring a ridiculous eight goals in the game to win 8-4. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes will look to shake off game 3 and win a game on the road in this series. They want to take a 3-1 series lead and head back to home, where they haven’t lost a game yet this series.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes are looking to break this home game winning streak in this series and get the first road win. Carolina would love nothing more than to get a win in this game and take a 3-1 series lead heading back home, where they haven’t lost yet in this series. It was shocking that the Hurricanes were lown out in game 3 on the road because they have been excellent as the away team this year with a 24-11-6 record. Look to see if they can shake off game 3 and play good hockey on the road like they’re used to doing.

The Hurricanes have gotten production from their players this postseason. Carolina has been led by Sebastian Aho in the playoffsas he leads the team in points, goals, and assists. Aho has 10 points with 5 goals and assists. Seth Jarvis has also been great for the Hurricanes this postseason. He has 8 points with 4 goals and assists. Goalie, Antti Raanta has a 3-2 record this postseason with a .906 save percentage allowing 2.59 goals a game. They have also been playing Frederik Andersen who has a 3-0 record with a .925 save percentage allowing 2.03 goals a game.

In their loss against the Devils in game 3, they got off to a horrible start as New jersey scored three-straight goals in the first period. In the second period things got worse as the Devils scored again to take a 4-0 lead. Finally, Aho put one in to make it a 4-1 game. New Jersey answered right back though with a goal of their own. They would end up scoring three more goals to win 8-4 against the Hurricanes. Anderson was benched after giving up 4 goals on 12 shots.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils are trying to do what the Hurricanes did and win both of their home games. New Jersey needs this game as they cannot afford to go down in this series 3-1 with it heading back to Carolina. Good thing is that the Devils have been great at home this season with a 24-23-4 record. Look to see if they can repeat their performance in game 3 and tie this series up.

The Devils have gotten production from a lot of their players this postseason. New Jersey has been lead by Jack Hughes in the playoffs as he leads the team in points and goals. Hughes has 9 points with 5 goals and 4 assists. Nico Hischier has also been great this postseason as he has 7 points with 1 goal and 6 assists. Ondrej Palat has 7 points with 3 goals and 4 assists. New Jersey has been going back and forth with their goaltending all postseason between Akira Schmid and Vitek Vanecek. Scmid has a 4-3 record with a .921 save percentage allowing 2.30 goals a game. While, Vanecek has a 1-2 record with a .845 save percentage allowing 4.02 goals a game.

In their win against the Hurricanes in game 3, they dominated from the start scoring three straight goals in the first period. Hughes had a monster game finishing with 4 points scoming from 2 goals and 2 assists. Hischier had 2 points with 1 goal and assist. New Jersey just did whatever they wanted in this game as it was complete domination. Vanecek saved 26 of the 30 shots he faced with a .867 save percentage.

Hurricanes vs. Devils Prop Prediction

Theres really no need to explain this pick. Hughes has been great all postseason for the Devils. He exploded last game with 4 points. I think he continues this hot streak in this game in front of his home crowd. This is a very important game and the Devils will need Hughes if they want to win this game.

Hurricanes vs. Devils Prop Pick: Jack Hughes to score a goal (+145)
