Stars Look To Surpass Colorado With Win In St. Louis | Stars vs Blues | OSB
Dallas Stars at St. Louis Blues
By Sam Batz
On Wednesday, April 12th the Dallas Stars hit the road to face the St. Louis Blues for the first of a back-to-back matchup (7:30 PM EST, TNT). The Stars lead the series 1-0-0 over the Blues. St. Louis lost 1-4 in their first matchup, but unfortunately the Blues were eliminated from playoff contention, and a win over Dallas would change nothing. Dallas on the other hand clinched a playoff berth and are fighting for the top-spot in the Central Division. The Stars are favored to beat the Blues Wednesday, and if the Avalanche lose on Tuesday, Dallas takes the top-spot.
Dallas Stars Road to Redemption (-165)
The Dallas Stars are in the playoffs for the second straight year and are hoping to make it further into the postseason than last year. The Stars are 45-21-14 with 104 points, and with just two games remaining, they are tied for first in both the Central Division and the Western Conference. No matter what, the Stars are in the playoffs, but they have a turbulent past when it comes to the postseason. In 2020, Dallas made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals, but lost to Tampa Bay in 6 games. The following year, the Stars missed the playoffs altogether, but bounced back in 2022, only to be eliminated after the First Round. This year, the Stars are hoping to repeat their successes, and learn from their failures.
St. Louis Blues Playing For Pride (+140)
The St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup Finals in 2019 for the first time in franchise history, but now, 4 years later, they are missing the playoffs entirely. The Blues are 37-36-7 with 81 points, but that wasn’t good enough to qualify for the postseason, snapping a 4 year streak. The Blues had an unremarkable season hovering around the middle of the standings, and failing to put together a decent string of wins in crunch time. The Blues biggest deficiency was defense, as they allowed nearly 4 goals per game, and rank in the bottom-five for total goals allowed. St. Louis wins less than 50% of their games, whether home or away, and are not expected to beat the Dallas Stars on Wednesday.

Stars vs. Blues Prediction
Take the Dallas Stars to win on Wednesday. The Blues don’t inspire much confidence and Dallas is competing for the top-spot in their division. St. Louis’ top player has recorded less than 80 points and their best Goaltender has more losses than wins. Conversely, the Stars are loaded with talent and rank among the top-10 in both goals scored (275) and goals allowed (213). The Stars are looking to enter the postseason on a winning streak, and with the division title on the line, Dallas is going to come ready to play on Wednesday.
Prediction: Dallas Stars Moneyline (-165) and the Over (6)
