The Lightning did what they needed to do to win a crucial Game 3. Going down 3-0 would’ve basically guaranteed being sent home for them, and ended their hopes for winning the Stanley Cup three years in a row. If u had Lightning -175, you sweated it out, because watching the Lightning go down 0-2 early had us doubting them.
The Lightning were called for two penalties against Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin in the second period of Game 3, leading to power-play goals by New York each time.
Tampa Bay must eliminate silly play like that in Game 4 if they are to win. The Lightning will continue to be without center Brayden Point, who was second on the team with 28 goals in 66 games during the regular season. Point injured his leg in Game 7 against the Maple Leafs. He has been skating with the team recently but will miss his eighth straight game.
