Rangers Seek to take Stranglehold of Series
Entering this series, we knew that the New York Rangers were a great home team, as they’ve only lost one home game this entire playoffs, but it’s safe to say that not many people truly expected them to be up 2-0 after the first two games. Not when they’re faced up against the two time reigning champions. Nonetheless, the Rangers are up two games to none, and they won both these games in different manners. In game one, the Rangers came out firing the puck and one in an offensive display, and then in game two, they showed that they could also win a defensive showdown against the Lightning.
Keandre Miller and Kaapo Kokko scored in the first period and Adam Fox and Chris Krieder each had two assists for the Rangers. Additionally, their goalie Igor Shesterkin stopped 29 shots and only allowed two goals to this feisty Lightning team. Expect game three to be more like game two as opposed to game one in goals scored.
