Playoff Matchup
The New York Rangers (51-21-3-3, 41-37 ATS, 30-45 O/U) travel to TD Garden to take on the Boston Bruins (47-25-3-2, 29-48 ATS, 34-36 O/U). The Rangers are coming off a key road win against the Islanders on Thursday. Not only did this win keep them in contention for the first seed in the Metropolitan Division, but it also was a key morale boost for the team, as the Islanders had beaten them in the previous two matchups earlier in the season. Andrew Copp was huge for them in that game with his first period hat trick, but unfortunately has been listed as out in this game versus the Bruins, along with Filip Chityl.
The Bruins were defeated by the formidable Penguins in their previous outing by an ugly final score of 4-0. This game is a massive game for both teams, as the Rangers are fighting for the top seed in the Metro Division as there currently tide with the Carolina Hurricanes at 108 points, and the Bruins currently set only two points ahead of the second Wild card, as well as only three points back from the third seed and Atlantic Division.
This game was decided with who I trust more guarding the cage. That will be a matchup between Igor Shesterkin and Jeremy Swayman. Although Jeremy is having a great season,Including finding the last five games for the Bruins, and supporting a 2.35 GAA and .916 save%, Igor has been a young phenom for the Rangers. His numbers are even better than Swans had a 2.01 GAA and a .938 save percentage.
