Dallas Stars at Minnesota Wild: Game 6 Prediction, Player Props, & Betting Tips
By Sam Batz
The NHL’s Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on Friday, April 28th with a pivotal Game 6 matchup between the Minnesota Wild and the Dallas Stars (9:30 PM EST, TBS). Dallas, who is the higher seed, leads the series 3-2. The series was back-and-forth through the first 4 games, but Dallas was the first to win back-to-back matchups after they torched the Wild 4-0 in Game 5. The Stars finally looked like the better team, and will look to wrap things up with a win on Friday. Minnesota will need to force a Game 7 in order to advance, and in Game 6, the Wild are -1.5 goal favorites, but their moneyline is priced at -110, the same as Dallas.
The Dallas Stars (+1.5; ML -110)
The Dallas Stars now have a 78% chance to win the series after their Game 5 victory over Minnesota. Dallas was ruthless, scoring at least 1 goal in every period, and locking it down on defense for their first shutout of the postseason. Minnesota actually recorded more shots than Dallas, but it was the Stars who shined in front of the goal. 8 different players have scored at least 1 goals for Dallas this postseason, but Center Roope Hintz has been magnificent, recording 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) for the Stars, the most of any player in the playoffs. The Stars will qualify for the Second Round for the first time since 2020 with a win on Friday.
The Minnesota Wild (-1.5; ML -110)
The Minnesota Wild have been eliminated from the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs the last two years. They will look at avoiding making it three with a win in Game 6. If Minnesota loses, their season is over and they will have to try again next year for the franchises first Stanley Cup trophy. But the Wild have only lost 1 game at home this series, and are slight favorites to win Game 6. At 22%, they are not likely to make it past the First Round, but with a win, they stay alive to fight another day.

Stars vs. Wild: Player Props
Jason Robertson (Stars Left Wing): Anytime Goal Scorer (+155)
Jason Robertson has 2 goals in 5 games against the Wild. He led the Stars with 46 goals during the regular season, and was the only player in Dallas to eclipse 100 points (46 goals, 63 assists). Robertson is an important player for the Stars and they will need him to be at his best in Game 6. I predict he will score at least 1 goal.
Kirill Kaprizov (Wild Left Wing): Anytime Goal Scorer (+120)
Kirill Kaprizov has had a rough First Round. He averages just 2.8 shots per game and has scored only 1 goal this series. He’s been bottled up by Dallas’ defense, and as a result, has a shooting percentage of 7.1%. Regardless, Kaprizov led Minnesota with 40 goals during the regular season, and in their biggest game of the year, Kirill Kaprizov will be the hero. I predict he will score at least 1 goal in Game 6.
Stars vs. Wild: Game 6 Prediction
It will be a very close game, but take the Minnesota Wild to win Game 6. The threat of elimination can be a powerful motivator and Minnesota will ride that adrenaline to victory. I think Dallas will ultimately win the series, but the Wild will force the first Game 7 of the playoffs. Minnesota has played the Stars tougher than many expected, and their resilience and tenacity will allow them to even the series at 3-3. Game 6 will be a hard-fought contest, but if the Wild don’t hold back and put the pressure on Dallas, I think they like the result.
Prediction: Minnesota Wild Moneyline (-110)
