Stanley Cup Finals: Vegas Golden Knights at Florida Panthers Game 4 Analysis, Prediction, and Betting Tips

Sam Batz

GOLDEN KNIGHTS VS panthers

The Stanley Cup Finals continue on Saturday, June 10th with Game 4 between the Florida Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights (8:00 PM EST, TNT). The Golden Knights lead the series 2-1, but the Panthers have the momentum after a crucial overtime win in Game 3. Florida is undefeated in overtime this postseason, and on Thursday, they notched a goal in OT to beat Vegas 3-2. Florida avoided the 0-3 deficit, and now look to even the series on Saturday. The Golden Knights are playing well, but after scoring 12 combined goals in the first two games of the Finals, scored just 2 goals in Game 3, and gave up their first loss to the Panthers.

The Vegas Golden Knights (+1.5; ML -105)

The Golden Knights are 14-6 (70.0%) in the playoffs, but are reeling after their 1 goal OT loss in Game 3. Vegas is 2 wins away from claiming their first Stanley Cup Trophy, and according to FiveThirtyEight, the Golden Knights have a 74% chance to win the championship. With 76 total goals, the Golden Knights sit atop the chart for the most postseason scores, and with a goal differential of +24, it’s easy to see how Vegas made it this far. They are a well-rounded, fiercely competitive side, with great team chemistry, and exceptional depth. 18 different players have scored at least 1 goal, and 20 different players have 2 or more points for the Golden Knights, making Vegas one of  the toughest teams to beat in the playoffs.

The Florida Panthers  (-1.5; ML -115)

The Florida Panthers are 13-6 (68.4%) in the playoffs, and after an improbable run, Florida is competing for their first ever Stanley Cup title. After clawing their way back in Game 3, and securing their 7th overtime win of the postseason, the Panthers are now down 1-2 in the Finals against Vegas. Florida has a 26% chance to beat the Golden Knights, but will need to continue to play the strong defense they showed in Game 3. Florida has lost more games in the Finals than they did in the previous two rounds combined, but after their Game 3 victory, the Panthers are back in the running. Vegas might have a better team on paper, but the Panthers now have the momentum on their side.

Golden Knights vs. Panthers: Game 4 Prediction

Take the Golden Knights to win Game 4 over the Panthers on Saturday. The Golden Knights did not play well in Game 3, and yet they nearly won the game. Florida is 7-0 in OT, meaning Vegas will look to avoid overtime as much as possible, but I expect the Golden Knights to channel the energy they had in the first two games, and take care of business in regulation. The Panthers made it a series by avoiding the 0-3 deficit, but the Golden Knights have been impressive on the road, posting a 6-3-0 away record, giving Vegas a good chance to win Game 4. The Golden Knights have only lost back-to-back games once in these playoffs, and against a Florida side who has yet to eclipse 3 goals in the Final, I like Vegas’ odds for Saturday.

Prediction: Vegas Golden Knights Moneyline (-105)
