Panthers vs. Bruins
The Florida Panthers will travel to the TD Garden to take on the Boston Bruins in Game 1 of their best of seven series in round 1 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs (7:30 PM ET, ESPN). The Panthers are trying to bounce back after losing their last two games of the regular season. Florida lost their last game of the regular season against the Carolina Hurricanes 6-4. Meanwhile, the Bruins ended their season on a eight-game winning streak. Boston won the Presidents Cup this season and also set the NHL record in wins. In their last game of the season they defeated the Montreal Canadiens 5-4. The Bruins have been the most dominant team this season and are the favorites to win the Stanley Cup.
Panthers Hockey
The Panthers finished the season with a 42-32-8 record with 92 points. Florida secured the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, but now they will have to play the most dangerous team in the NHL in the Bruins. For the first two games of this series Florida will be on the road, which is bad for them because they have been shaky this season as the away team with a 19-19-3 record. Look to see if they can pull off the upset and defeat the Bruins in this series or even steal game one from them.
The Panthers have gotten production from a lot of their players this year. Florida has five players above 50 points on the season. Offensively, the Panthers are averaging 3.51 goals a game on the season. Defensively, Florida has been allowing teams to score an average of 3.32 points a game on the season. Look to see if their offense can give the Bruins trouble.
Bruins Hockey
The Bruins finished thei season with a 65-12-5 record with 135 points. Boston set the NHL record in wins this season as they absolutely dominated anyone who stood in their way. Boston easily won Atlantic division this season and will now face the Panthers in round one of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Boston gets home ice advantage in this series, which is great considering they are basically unbeatable at home this season with a 34-4-3 record at TD Garden. Look to see if they can continue their dominance in the playoffs.
The Bruins have gotten production from their players this year. They have eight players who have 50+ points on the season. Boston has been led by David Pastrnak who finished the season with 113 points with 61 goals and 52 assists. Left winger Brad Marchand also had a great season having 67 points with 21 goals and 46 assists. Center Patrice Bergeron did his thing this season with 58 points with 27 goals and 31 assists.
Offensively, the Bruins are averaging 3.66 points a game on the season. Defensively, Boston has been allowing teams to score an average of 2.12 points a game on the season. Look to see if their high-scoring offense can give the Panthers trouble.

I just don’t see how the Panthers win this game with their struggling defense. I think the Bruins win this game 5-2 against Florida.
