The Flyers are looking to start fresh. Last season they only won 25 games behind a ton of injuries and had to fire their head coach. It is looking like the injury bug is biting them again as Sean Courtier and Ryan Ellis are out while Cam Atkinson is questionable.

The Devils weren’t much better last season. They only won 27 games and are might start the season without their captain in Nico Hischier as he is sidelined with a hamstring injury. The Devils did win five of their seven games in the preseason.

I like the Devils to win this game on the road. They have multiple young stars in Jack hughes and Jesper Bratt and added more pieces in the offseason including Ondrej Palat who has been to three straight Stanley Cup Finals. The Flyers have yet to replace their former captain Claude Giroux, who they shipped to the Panthers last year. The Devils have the better team here.
